Booked for a “Boozy Brunch” and was limited to 5 cocktails per person or one “Carafe” which was supposed to hold 5 cocktails worth. The explanation and set up for the boozy brunch is very confusing, and not at all like a bottomless brunch. Had we not all ordered cocktail rounds at the same time, we would have had to keep track of our own number of drinks which is not something you want to be doing when relaxing and getting slowly less and less sober… Upon receiving the drinks we discovered that carafes contain approximately 4 cocktails worth (with ice) which was disappointing as we were reassured they were made bigger than the ones on the normal menu for boozy brunches. Later, we ordered food, of which some main ingredients didn’t arrive with the meals (for example two people ordered sweet potato rice bowls which came without the rice). Then later we had to ask about the sides we ordered to find they were not given to the kitchen to make so we had to eat them after our meals instead of with. The “crushed” salmon looked and tasted like tinned salmon and overall the food quality was sub-par. Then later one lady’s dessert never arrived but at least it wasn’t on the receipt either! (I would have given the food higher stars on this review as some of us enjoyed our meal if it hadn’t been for the other multiple issues!) I mentioned this to the waitress who was very lovely and apologetic despite 99% of the issues not being in her control. She discussed this with a manager who gave us some limoncello shots for free and took some money off the final bill (I think around the cost of one brunch despite all 10 of us having concerns). If I’m honest I, and the rest of the group, did not think this was enough but did not want to push it further as we were trying to enjoy our day out. One positive is that the individual cocktails that we did receive tasted good and got the job done (although I suppose that’s the basic requirement we hoped for). Evidently the waitress is already put on the back foot by the establishment when trying to explain the convoluted set up of the boozy brunch. I’m not quite sure why they need several different menus for this and why they couldn’t condense it all into one place. I’m not sure why we couldn’t split carafes between us at the table when one is supposedly worth 5 cocktails.. I mean who would want to drink the same cocktail the whole time only to find out you actually get one less drink than your peers? Honestly we won’t be returning and won’t be...
Read moreWe were recommended this restaurant by some friends to meet up for an evening out on a Saturday. When we arrived the host greeted us however it was as if we were a hassle being there and very cold. We were escorted to our table where we immediately noticed a setting with really dirty cutlery and a water glass missing for the size of our party. We then sat waiting nearly 20 minutes before we called over a member of staff to order some drinks. Other dinners who say down after us had already received cocktails. I can only assume that the young man serving decided that he would serve the 2 pretty young girls before 2 couples. He came to the table and we asked if we could have menus, a drink and asked if he could replace the dirty place setting. He took the place setting and as approaching the bar angrily threw the cutlery like a petulant child. One of our party then called him back and challenged his behaviour which was disgraceful. After a small amount of time a different server approached, apologised and continued to serve us for the rest of the evening. The incident had really soured the evening from the start. The other server did her best to rescue the situation and we continued our evening. To summarise, the cocktails were good, food was ok but I thought quite pretentious and over priced, service was a bit cheesey. Overall paying £80 per head was totally over priced and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as there are far better restaurants to go to. I cannot believe in 2025 how poor the standard of food service has dropped so low. Our guests checked the bill and we split it in half. Had I realised there was a service charge I would have asked for it to be removed. Very very...
Read moreThis is the very first place where my husband (now) taking me when I first came here in England. And this is gonna be my first long review among all of every review I have ever made. Wow! 🌹
First impression of all food was amazing really! (Even now they merged to Orbis) And I pinned it in my brain. Secondly we had a date night before we decided to have our wedding celebration here.
I want to thank all the Orbis's team who assisted us about everything in our Wedding celebration on the 8th September 2021.
Apart that they will certainly served you with good food, and I think it will be nice to announce the restaurant merge underway and add some regulations on the website to ensure the authenticity of the food served. Also be offering delicious options available like cake and raw vegan treats.
Our friend, who initially faced rejection from the staff due to the raw vegan cake delivery, I suggests adding this information on the website will be benefiting. Hopefully, it will serve as a reminder to staff members when receiving such cakes.
I didn't review or verify the recent payments made by my husband, as many brides would be displeased with incomplete details. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Your food is satisfactory. Rest assured, I plan to return.
Lastly, Lois (or the designated email correspondent) or future managers should prioritize using the "reply all" feature for effective communication with potential clients, visitors, or anyone contacting via email or phone.
I look forward to returning soon. Thank...
