Central Café and Tearooms in Stamford is a delightful gem that truly embodies the charm of traditional British tea culture. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and a genuine sense of hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. The ambiance is cosy yet elegant, with a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort.

One of the highlights of our visit was the impeccable service, particularly from Katie, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. Her attentiveness, friendly nature, and extensive knowledge of the menu added a special touch to our afternoon. It's clear that all the staff take pride in their work, as every interaction was pleasant and professional.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the traditional afternoon tea. It was nothing short of fantastic! The selection of sandwiches was fresh and flavourful, with classic fillings that were executed to perfection. The scones were a highlight, served with clotted cream and jam, exactly as they should be. The array of pastries and cakes that followed were equally impressive, each bite offering a delightful mix of textures and flavours.

Whether you're a local or just passing through Stamford, Central Café and Tearooms is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good food, great service, and a touch of indulgence. We can't wait to return and enjoy another wonderful afternoon in this lovely establishment!

We also had the Full English Breakfast, Soup, Panini, Jacket Potato and the value for money for 8 people...

When i ventured upon this Historical and very Popular Cafè/Restaurant, that Mother used to take me as a Child, i have always wanted to come back and visit this Wonderful Childhood memory of Happy Times. I did, go back and visit. How pleased was I when visited this Fabulous Establishment again. When i arrived, i was Greeted and Welcomed by a Friendly Food and Beverage Server who really looked after me. She found me a table and handed me a menu to Peruse and choose my Fine Fare. So i Perused the menu, and chose to have the Full English Breakfast and a Pot of Earl Grey Tea for one to Quench his thirst. So i ordered my choice and waited. When i arrived, I was very Impressed and very Happy with Attention to the Finest Detail. I Enjoyed eating my plate of Gorgeousness that had been for me. My Earl Grey Tea, was just Perfect for this Occasion. This really brought back to me, very Happy Childhood Memories of being with my Loving Mum, who is sadly no longer with me.She is still with me in my Heart. I will always Love You Mum. Thank you very much for making my day, really Special and me being Happy again. I Truely Recommend, with all of my Heart and Soul, please come and visit, it will create a Happy Memory for You....

This used to be our go to place when we came to Stamford. Havnt been for about 5 years and it seems to have changed hands. Everything more expensive and not as much variety. We were served pretty quickly and the waitress just remembered our order when we told her which I thought was pretty weird. She had to come back about 2 mins later to double check if I wanted milk in my americano - I had already told her (heard her double checking something with the table next to me too). What's wrong with notepads these days??? Wife ordered a scone , I ordered a jacket potato but 20 mins later mine hadn't turned up so I had to go back and ask them where it was. They had clearly forgotten about it . When it turned up on the table a few mins later it was absolutely delicious to be fair. We didn't have a cake but the selection was...

This place is defo the spot to come! 👏🏻❤️The Central Café & Tearooms in Stamford is absolutely gorgeous inside, think stone walls, a fireplace, and the cutest picture of animated Stamford. It’s sweet, quaint, and has such a cosy vibe. The food? Unreal. Their twist on a full English (pic) was bursting with flavour and felt like a proper upgrade on the classic. My partner had the afternoon tea and it was just as lovely, fresh, indulgent, and beautifully put together. 🍰🍳☕ Only thing is, it’s on the small side and when we went on a Sunday it was packed, so not the most chilled setting. But midweek? I can imagine it’s perfect. Honestly, if you’re in Stamford and want good food with heaps of character, this is the place.
