Gluten free advert poorly catered for Jul 2025 This restaurant advertises Gluten free pizzas on their website which is exactly what we wanted .. I drove my family of four 20 minutes from Peterborough and paid for parking to visit. On arrival we are then informed that they had no gluten free dough left which scuppered our plans and ruined our afternoon as my wife has dietary requirements. Staff were very flippant on our disappointment with no real apology. Fast forward 2 weeks and I decided today to ring in advance as advised from previous visit to ask if any gluten free dough was available and was told by an employee that only 5 were left... that's fine I said after explaining our previous visit disappointment only to be told they wouldn't 'hold' or put aside ONE pizza dough for my wife and again this was for a family outing. I tried to book in advance with the ONE gluten free dough requirements and was told they wouldn't/ couldn't reserve a pizza dough which obviously made our decision to go not possible as we could again be let down with a wasted trip if they sold out before we arrived. I rarely write reviews but I feel that the ridiculous lottery chance of making a wasted journey deserved a review to warn others with dietary requirements. Very disappointed with the way we were treated previously and again today on the phone by a rude employee who kept talking over me and was not interested in making a very regular...

Service = terrible. Food = excellent.

Firstly - the pizzas were incredible! So soo good, fresh ingredients and well made. Definitely the best in the area, no doubt. It's worth coming here and I'm glad I tried it, I'll be back.

BUT I wouldn't recommend booking on a busy day, if you do come when it's busy, chance it on the outside seats.

We booked a table of 6 for today (busy Friday evening) and waited a LONG time for the food (maybe an hour?), when it came, they'd made a mistake on one of the pizzas. They didn't correct it and they didn't offer an apology or a replacement. There was also a drinks order we asked for several times that never came. We then waited a very long time afterwards to be asked if we wanted desserts (and tried to get their attention to do so), but when they finally came over, they were asking us to vacate our table (and sit outside, where it was very busy, and cold, we obviously hadn't brought coats with our inside booking) because they had another booking.

Considering how long it took the pizzas to get to us and the fact that we were looking forward to trying the desserts, we were a bit pissed off about being asked to move.

You can't book outside tables, but I don't think the people out there (it was packed) were being asked to leave. It doesn't really make sense that the ones booking in advance are being rushed, and the ones chancing it are...

We have been going here regularly for 3 years, but unfortunately will not be going back. We have always ordered margarita pizza and 2 fries, as it is listed as vegetarian. When we went a while ago, we realised that under the ingredients Parmesan was listed. As we were stood waiting for a table, a waiter came over and said we could sit anywhere. Before he walked off, my friend tried to ask about the Parmesan (as it is not vegetarian), but he walked off and said give me a minute before she could finish. We sat down and when he came back over, my friend asked about the Parmesan again and asked if it was a vegetarian type as Parmesan isn’t vegetarian. He implied she was wrong and that cheese is just cheese. He then went on to say how it was a personal choice to not eat it. While this may seem like a minor issue to most people, it is an all too common experience that my friend tries to talk about vegetarian options at restaurants and is shunned away. She was just trying to explain how Parmesan is not vegetarian so the pizza should not be listed as such. It is hard to explain by typing, but the way we were treated by the waiter made us feel very awkward and uncomfortable. If you are not vegetarian, the place is great (apart from this particular staff member). But if you are, I would be careful with what...

I don't usually write reviews, but today I feel compelled to share my experience. We visited Pizza de Mario as a family of four to celebrate our son's GCSE results. Unfortunately, Pizza de Mario, which had disappointed us before with burnt pizzas, managed to exceed all previous letdowns. This *boutique* pizzeria served us not one, but three pizzas that were burnt on both the top and bottom. The food was not only unappetising but also potentially harmful—my family ended up consuming food that should never have left the kitchen. I am baffled by how this establishment finds it acceptable to serve such subpar, potentially carcinogenic food to paying customers. It speaks to a troubling level of complacency and disregard for quality. What should have been a joyous celebration turned into a significant disappointment. The only reason I didn’t return the pizzas was because my son begged me not to ruin the day further.

A wonderful find! We've just had a long weekend in Stamford and were looking for places for dinner, a search of best restaurants quickly flagged up Pizza Da Mario. I called the weekend before and was very lucky to get us squeezed in on Saturday 20th April and boy am I glad they got us in! Staff were really lovely, clearly a very busy restaurant for takeaway orders but that did not alter the service we received in the restaurant. Pizza was simply perfect. Light base, delicious toppings and cooked to perfection. Thr N'duga was our favourite. Parmesan fries were also delicious. Finished off with proper coffee and some gelato and sorbet. We will absolutely be back and have told anyone who asked us about our trip just how great this little place is! Thank you.

Our dinner tonight was going to be fish and chips and a beer in a pub after. Then we walked through the sheep market when I asked the wife if she would like to change the menu, and have pizza. Let me tell you who is reading I have lived in Stamford all my life and have been to all places to eat. This is our second visit and even tho outside is walk in only, we will bring our nearest and dearest who haven't experienced this top Restaurant. We truly felt for two and a bit hours we were somewhere on holiday. Thank you all for this evening. Many Regards Tim Duff Stamford
