Our experience Monday 15th July 2019 has really altered our perception of this restaurant, and not for the good.
We've eaten here lots over the last few years - I'd say it was our regular choice for indian food in Stamford, but not anymore!
Myself, my partner and my two teenage children ate here on Monday evening; the place was empty but the greeting was warm as usual. We ordered far too much as usual, including starters; all went well. We couldn't finish the meal so took a carry out bag.
Literally 10-15 minutes after finishing our meal we had to leave due to my partner feeling queasy; by the time we made it the ten minutes up the road to the taxi rank she'd vomited three times. This was followed by my two kids spending the rest of the night vomitting (and on the loo); I myself got away lucky with just terrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea.
I called the restaurant just after midday on Tuesday to explain what had gone wrong; I received an apology and offer of a free meal. At this point, feeling a little ropey, all I wanted was an apology, told whatever had gone wrong would be fixed and my money back - £80. Instead I was told the owner would call me after 6pm; no call was received. I called again and was told a message had been left and to call back tomorrow - Wednesday. Today (Wednesday) I called just after midday againto speak with the manager; he was not available, but instead I spoke with the head chef - who apologised and explained he hadn't worked on Monday evening. Again my details were taken and a call was promised for six pm today.
I never got the call, so I called the restaurant again. I have just spoken with the waiter at the restaurant; who explained the manager had come in and gone out again; the owner was not available either. I explained what had gone on to the waiter, who then revealed he was in charge tonight; he became obstinate and arrogant, asking if we'd been to the doctors to prove it was food poisoning, which I had; he wanted evidence from the doctor - I explained the doctor was happy to provide a Doctors Note for a cost - I asked him if this would be ok as evidence as clearly my word was not; he agreed to the doctors note but explained he would not pay for the note.

Tried to double charge us and removed discount for 2nd charge. Lied about the order being received. Lied about times to cover a missed order. Lied about who the manager was. Told a disabled person they were refusing to fulfil a paid delivery order or refund them and they would have to pay for a taxi to collect it. Lied about delivery availability.
To top it all off, when they eventually agreed to fulfil the order after trying every way they could think of to steal the money from a disabled person, they tried to poison them by serving rotten meat that luckily was in my order, not theirs. I threw up.
This will be reported.
No wonder you guys panicked when trading standards were mentioned. The other reviews suggest you frequently try to steal from people. I wonder what else they will uncover.
Deplorable, fraudulent behaviour. Avoid like the plague. I refuse to believe anyone is this utterly incompetent so I'll assume you deliberately tried to poison a disabled person for daring to advocate for themselves enough to refuse your theft of their money and constant lies to avoid providing any service.
You're not as smart as you think. I'll enjoy seeing you go out of business for what appears do be multiple and consistent attempts at criminal activity. It would've been so much easier to just put your efforts into running a good business than ripping people off and poisoning them.
The only thing more disgusting than the food here is the attitude of the staff.
If the manager genuinely wasn't in, after both staff members claimed to be the manager, I wonder what you'll have to say for yourselves when he reads this, or if the whole business is as rotten as the meat served here.
Either way, the current management is abysmal and I'd be ashamed of having my name associated with at best, utter incompetence and at worst, fraudulent criminal behaviour.
Edit: I'll come back to let everyone know if the rotten meat that made me throw up poisons me. I induced vomiting myself afterwards to ensure that the chances are as low as possible.
Update: Luckily, I was okay afterwards. Just a night of hunger and nausea...

When we return there had given our table to someone else and asked us to wait out side for another 10 min why there sort out a table at this time we were really not happy as we booked the table. There was a few people outside waiting like us that was waiting over 45 mins for a table as well and they had booked to but then they walk away. We finally got sat down and the service was very poor and got the the main course it was cold and we had to send it back. Finally went to pay the bill and as we paid they put more charges on the bill because forgot to put the on the drinks on the bill well that was the last straw for us .
