Β Β Β Read moreI find it hard to believe the 4.7 rating here. We went as a family of four for a celebratory meal having eaten fantastic food along Ocean Road for 40 years. Starters were fine, however the mains were absolutely abysmal. The paratha was hard, and like no paratha we've seen (either in the UK or India). The korma was gritty and the Masala was the worst I've ever had, overly sweet with no spices or flavour and an unpleasant texture. However the worst factor was the staff response. They argued it was fine and asked "Have you had chicken masala before", then argued they wouldn't take it off the bill, before taking less than half the value of the meal off the bill and trying to argue we should be paying for the rice (despite there being nothing to eat with the rice). Overall an incredibly disappointing experience, and a restaurant to avoid...
Β Β Β Read moreWe'd never came here before, but tonight we'd booked a table at zeera but when we got there we basically had people sitting on our knees and i got overwhelmed so walked out and went to cafe india instead. And I am SO GLAD we did. It was the best curry weve had on on ocean Road, the peshwari naan was so good I could have just eaten it on its own. I didn't see a Sri Lanka on the menu (I might have just missed it) but they made it anyway and it was delicious. The wine was decent priced and honestly the best pickle tray we've had. After trying all the curry houses on ocean Road this is the one we'll be making our regular. The resturant itself is nicely decorated and cosy, the spaces between tables are nice and music volume is perfect π Staff were lovely...
