Dilshad — Restaurant in South Tyneside

For nearly 30 years I've always gone to another nearby restaurant but when they were closed for refurbishment I tried Dilshad. I've now visited twice - 2 months ago when there was a large group of us, and tonight for my son's birthday, and each time it has more than exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the service is excellent. You are given a warm welcome and looked after for the duration of your stay. The staff genuinely go out of their way to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. And secondly, the food is first rate. I had my favourite chicken madras and my son preferred chicken tikka masala. The chicken was tender and succulent and each dish was beautifully presented. The nan bread and starters were equally as good. Other restaurants may at first appear to be slightly cheaper but will charge extra for certain things. E.g. for breast of chicken or tikka masala. None of that at Dilshad. If you want beautifully cooked Indian food with very reasonable prices and excellent service why not try Dilshad? I don't particularly like giving poor reviews to local business however i am hoping this feedback will be taken positively and for them to improve. So, i have no problem with there food - it's great and that's why i go back however!!! The delivery service and the ability to get the order right is absolutely SHOCKING!! Every delivery order i have received has items missing, bread, poppadoms, chutney sauces, salad even started.... When parting with a lot of cash, i expect the full order & a top quality service..... I have even went into the restaurant and spoke to the manager in person about this... yes i phone them as soon as i realise the order is incomplete,, yes, they send out the missing items,,, but arriving up to 2 hours after 1st delivery, there really is no point... so that's it for me Dilshad, i disappointingly will not be ordering from you again - time to try someone new... I have had incomplete orders x5 times now and that is totally unacceptable... very...

I'm so disappointed and frustrated with this business. We've been customers for years both in the restaurant and takeaway. We stopped ordering for a while because they kept getting the order wrong. We're back and it's still happening!

Missed mango chutney — I know, it seems small, but with onion salad on poppadoms it's a main part of our meal (we don't eat much). I called and they said they'd get some to us in 20 minutes. 4 hours later, I guess it's not coming.

It sucks because the food at this place is phenomenal.... honestly, it's delicious. They just need to take more care to get orders right.

They did offer a free bhaji, but try getting that 3 or 4 weeks later when it's all been forgotten about!!!

If your willing to chance getting the wrong order, go for it! You're sure to enjoy...
