Lovely authentic Sri Lankan restaurant located near Bitterne triangle in Southampton. Everything was perfect! The food, ambiance, staff and service.🙌 Owner and other staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great and fast service. Specially we love the care given by the owner, he was always asking “is everything ok”, what else we want and some extra tea or green tea for free. And specially we loved the little bowl of chickpeas which served while we were waiting for our food. Food was fresh and delicious 😋 Reasonable prices and large portions. Personally I love the decorations and the ambiance. Very calm and relaxing environment. On tv they were playing some traditional cooking programs which you can get an idea about the traditional Sri Lankan cooking styles and recipes. Very thoughtful. We had a lovely time when we came for dinner last night. We will definitely come back, and we wish this lovely restaurant every success!

Ceylon Junction is a fantastic spot to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan cuisine right here in Southampton. Recently had a chance to experience dinner with Sri Lankan taste. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. With Sri Lankan music playing in the back ground and sitting in a place decorated as it’s in Sri Lanka. The menu is full of rich, flavorful dishes with plenty of variety—from spicy curries and traditional rice and string hoppers to delicious vegetarian options. I especially love the bold spices and fresh ingredients that make each dish stand out. The staff are welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Whether you’re a fan of Sri Lankan food or trying it for the first time, Ceylon Junction is definitely worth a visit!

Had a nice time at this great restaurant. It had a nice ambiance with soft Sri Lankan music playing in the background and attractive interior deco. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and made sure we had a good experience. We tried the beef fried rice, Negombo Pork, and the fish cutlets. All of them had the authentic taste and tasted very good. They are happy to adjust the spice, salt, and sugar levels for your need as well! Which is a big green flag for a restaurant. Would 100% recommend it for an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience.

Bit of a different review, but I believe it should be noted that the owners of this restaurant are very rude individuals. I say this as they took it upon themselves to knock my door before their restaurant had even began trading to ask me if they could have some banana leaves off of my plants in my front garden to use as decor for their grand opening. The lady offered me £1 for every 3 leaves (they have been growing for 15 years) so of good size and this would be an going thing. Now I didn’t even second guess it and agreed. It wasn’t until I told a few people and they made me look up the prices that I messaged her to suggest instead I would just rather have a couple of dishes of food when they opened (this would have cost them no more than £5). The lady agreed to this and the next day a man arrived at my door to collect the leaves. When he arrived he demanded me to cut two more leaves off, as he wanted those instead and I had already cut off 6 for him. Now I told him no that’s not possible to which he became very rude threw me £2 and walked off laughing with the leaves. I closed my front door not realising his wife had now got out of the car and started banging my door to tell me they were no good because they had a few splits around the edges but every leaf has those? She then told me they were for cooking and she normally gets her leaves in London. To which at that point I left her too it and closed my front door. Now if you have read this far, I hope your experience is...

Very disappointing after all the advertising on facebook. Expecting a real treat. Sadly, this establishment has a long way to go to get to an acceptable standard. The service was shambolic - first 2 starters arrive and then the third. After these three were finished eventually the fourth arrived. The first three starters appeared very dried out as if they had been kept warm for a long period of time. Cutlery was not available and had to be requested. The mains also arrived with long waits to get everyone served. The meat in the beef dish and the meat in the pork dish was extremely hard although the sauces were very tasty. Again, we had to ask for plates and serving spoons - the service seemed to be done by young family members. My chicken curry was ok and my son's jackfruit curry was actually delicious. Altogether this restaurant may have potential if the service is of a professional standard and that the food is served to all in the party at the same time and properly cooked - not overcooked and hard or obviously cooked so much earlier and kept hot for too long. It is a great shame, we were given a warm welcome and felt uncomfortable about complaining in the restaurant. The price was also quite high - working out at £25 per head. I am really disappointed as this was to be a treat for us and our adult sons. Our two course meal took one hour and 40 minutes to be served. There must be improvements otherwise this restaurant will...

Food was tasy however my chicken curry had more bone than chicken so I left hungry, others in the group left fuller . If going again I wouldn't get chicken and get a starter.

Main issue was service, we pre-booked and arrived 15 minutes early but were told to come back which was fine and we just went for a drink. Going back 30 minutes later we found the door locked and a customer needed to let us in, it seemed the restaurant forgot we'd already been in and asked if we'd booked. We were then made to feel an inconvenience as they had to clean and set a table up, I felt quite uncomfortable and almost left but a friend visiting wanted to try the food so we stayed.

Service was very slow and it took 1 hour to get our food. We were brought gin balloon glasses for the wine (one was dirty and had bits in it) and the cutlery set up was wrong so had to ask for this to be changed along with the glasses. The lady who had set the table up and made it seem we weren't welcome left abruptly, at the end the gentleman was clearly on the phone talking about us and as soon as we left he was out of the door.

It's a shame as had been before and recommended it to our friend due to quality of food but this visit has put me off...
