Sharkeys Sports Bar Southampton — Restaurant in Southampton

What a great place! Popped in on 2nd March for a few games of pool and had a chat with the friendly manager Rado, who very politely explained the food menu and table tennis promotion, as I planned to bring a friend in on the following Sunday (5th March). When my friend and I arrived on Sunday we were greeted by James who was a great character and had us both laughing outload, he explained the food menu in-depth and reserved a table tennis table just for us. James' manner was excellent and he was a very attentive barman. Shortly after that we met Ryan who was very friendly and had a little chat with us and also made us laugh. After several games of pool we decided to order food (which was very nice and didn't take long) on the second level from Jake who again was so helpful, attentive and genuine. After we had played table tennis Jake set us up to play Mario Kart until we were ready to leave. On the way out we had another friendly chat with Jake, Ryan and Rado. All facilities we used including the toilets were well maintained and very clean. The burger menu is superb and the 1am closing time is every night!! First time of visiting this place. Great energy , very loud but really good if you love sports and pool/snooker. However a few negatives I would like to mention. The toilets are way far down or up depending where you are in the building (almost as bad as a wetherspoons) but much, much cleaner. I don't like that the upper floor does not have beer on a tap so you have to go back down the stairs unless you want a bottle and lastly £3 for a jaģerbomb which is the same price as a shot of Sourz.... think someone needs to rethink that.

My partner also got a membership card for the year but we had to reserve a seat with a £50 deposit? Surely being a member he shouldn't have to do this.

We will no doubt be back in Sharkeys soon enough even with my feedback and I would definitely encourage people to go along because everyone's opinions...

Opened an hour after advertised. after we got let in we got 3 pints, All the pints were flat (poor showing). When I went back to the bar because the pints were flat and tasted like soap the staff rolled their eyes and had ago at us for their mistake. I asked to borrow a charge from the bar staff, they told me I had to pay £25 and £2 for every half hour. I reluctantly obliged but the service didn’t work. After the second attempt I asked the bar staff if there was any charger, without any hesitation she grabbed a charger and hand it over. Whilst there me and my mates got some food. The food took over an hour, the chips weren’t fully cooked, the wrap had no substance to it, and there was no difference between the spicy and the normal chicken burgers. The food arrived warm not hot like it was delivered...
