Sprinkles Gelato Above Bar — Restaurant in Southampton

The experience was ruined by Vabina’s (if this is even her real name, dark haired supervisor working on 30/6/21 at 7pm) customer service. She was rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Upon placing my order, I was rushed, met with a rude attitude and wasn’t listened to resulting in me having to repeat when she had the order completely wrong. I then had to ask for the price as Vabina couldn’t be bothered to tell me and also had to prompt for the receipt to be brought out with the icecream, I asked for Vabina’s name to be written on there in order to make this complaint.

The receipt was not brought out, resulting in me having to ask again. When I finished my ice cream I went back inside with the intention to speak to the manager who was no longer on site. I was instead met with Vabina who was argumentative regarding the issues I wanted to raise with the manager about her attitude, and was increasingly raising her voice almost shouting at me when speaking to me infront of customers. She dismissed what I had said telling me I was wrong. Other members of staff also noticed her rude unbothered demeanour (she demanded to know who these were but I will be keeping their identities confidential so that they also do not get berated by Vabina).

This girl is unsuitable for a supervisor role and is not a good role model to those working under her supervision. Vabina has unfortunately made it very unlikely that I will return to this...

I have been going to Sprinkles ever since it has opened in Southampton and nit has always been a great experience, unfortunately over time the portion of the ice is getting less, I always get a chocolate banana waffle with ice cream (which forster used to be from the machine) which was a good size of ice cream with the waffle, over time they have reduced the portion by bow serving in a tub rather then the plate itself, (which is cheeky) but I accepted it and carried on going, but today I got my usual chocolate banana waffle with ice cream and the chocolate was frozen over the waffle which is not normal as it's always hot and melted, I raised this with the staff and said I want a refund because this is not how it is usually and the staff lied and said it is to which I told him that NO it's not and iven been coming here from the beginning and he said I've been here 2yrs and it's always like this, (I was here 3 weeks ago with my wife and we had the same thing and it was not frozen) I told the staff that you have either changed the sauce or something. I asked him to check with the owner as its always been hot melted chocolate over the waffles to which he replied he is my brother in law!! His attitude was appalling as if he owned the store himself. He did refund me.

Unfortunately this encounter and experience was really bad and this is the last time I'll be going to sprinkles,...

We popped in for "breakfast" ice creams (child's birthday treat). We had never been to Sprinkles before, so we weren't quite sure of the procedure. Most of the ice cream/gelato places we go to offer greeters who seat you, offer menus and explain the process. Not here.

There were 2 staff behind the counter who ignored us. We wandered about until we found a pile of menus on a table and made our selections. We ordered at the counter, including ice cream sundaes, coffee, ice cream floats, cake etc. The server seemed surprised when we wanted to "eat in". We found our own way to a table.

Service was quick. The coffee was good. Many of the items ordered had failed on description (e.g. "vanilla soda" was in fact lemon and vanilla. "Chocolate cake" was chocolate and coffee etc.) They didn't have one of the items ordered, so had to reselect.

None of the children ate theirs. All of us were disappointed, apart from the coffee drinker.

Staff seemed confused when we requested toilet paper (there was none in either of the bathrooms).

Staff were pleasant but unenthusiastic. Tables were wiped with a damp cloth, but no cleaning spray was used.
