Booked in for tapas as a change from the usual curry, steak etc.
Seated downstairs near the kitchen door which wasn't great and the downstairs space is quite small, don't know if it's any better upstairs.
Staff are pleasant enough, and took our order in a reasonable time. Prices are average for what you'd expect and the food was nice. Bottle of red wine that we had was about £15, which again is what you'd expect.
Our service was reasonable considering its tapas, and they do say your food may be a bit random in the way it comes from the kitchen. That's fair enough as long as it tastes good and is cooked hot which is was. We did hear another couple say they had been waiting for a good while and weren't prepared to wait any longer. They paid up and left.
We weren't offered a dessert menu, which was a little disappointing. We asked for it and were told they only had cheesecake and orange cake left. We took a punt on one of each and again these were nice. But should the customer need to ask for a dessert menu.
Overall, the food was nice and came to us in a timely manner. The prices are reasonable, and the staff baring the dessert situation were OK. The restaurant layout is a bit tight, but some like that.
Would we go again, yeah I think we probably would. It might be nice to see what the...
Read moreDon't usually post bad reviews but this place was a real disappointment. Not sure how long it's been open or who owns/runs it but the experience was a disgrace to Andalucia. The welcome we got was quite cold, the food seemed like frozen/packet/microwave, service non existent and atmosphere was frosty. Walked in to hear a blazing row going off somewhere, assume it was in the kitchen, waitress seemed very embarrassed by it. Only had San Miguel as a Spanish beer, no potatoes for patatas braves, but did have frozen chips (waitress admitted), meatballs, my fave Andalucian tapas dish were like rubber. Calamari were tasteless. We left.most of the food and left early. Upstairs decorated in shades of grey, not really any attempt at Spanish decor. Bar counter downstairs was decorated in copper 2p and 1p pieces!?!?!? After having the real thing in Spain on many occasions, this was a very poor attempt at bringing tapas to Leek. If this was a one off night, then good luck but my impression was that only the sign outside had anything...
Read moreOk.. this was a visit during the Eat Out to Help Out.. so the meal was 50% off. It isn't cheap.. but if you want cheap go get a takeaway. The food is amazing. It is a Tapas restaurant.. make sure you look up the correct menu.. as there are many Casonas. They have Spanish beers and other drinks.. also not cheap. £5 for a Cruzcampo and £7 for a gin and tonic. The staff here are basically all kids and they are inexperienced. Everything was wrong. They said it was because they were busy so maybe I am being harsh. I will say no more. The decor is poor it is the same as it was when it was the pub. It needs improvement. All this said.. I still gave 4 stars... because the food is amazing. They also have offers on..outside of Eat Out to Help Out so try it. To the restaurant.. please help your staff..put up some more Spanish themed pictures and ornaments and for goodness sake fix...
