Cafe Apollonia — Restaurant in Staffordshire Moorlands

Hello, lady with the 3 year old here. Off the back of your reply to my friend. I'm utterly disgusted by your response. "Silliest review", "sabotage" you say. I am from Stafford and had traveled to Leek to meet a friend, the weather outside wasn't the best and my daughter needed the toilet so you were our first port of call. I had asked a young lady who was a member of staff as I first walked in if it was okay to use your toilet to which she responded politely and said this was okay. After waiting as discretely as possibly could in your tiny cafe the lady who I assume to be maybe manager? Had ask once again how she could help and I said my daughter just needed the toilet. Yes you were polite upon first response but soon you seemed quiet annoyed that I didn't follow your request to use the chain café. I could hear the hand blower going off and knew the occupant.... (YOUR members of staff using the toilet whom probably wasn't in there that long - Maybe just an excuse to make me leave and use the chain cafe?) Wasn't going to be that long, so I stayed put. Still you insisted in repeating, use the chain cafe and getting more and more rude the more you spoke. I can't quite remember what you said because quite frankly I haven't felt that uncomfortable to be somewhere in such a long time and wanted to avoid any confrontation which seemed to be where it was heading from you. As far as micky takers are concerned... I don't believe you could seriously look at a 3 year old who was standing incredibly well and quietly such things. As for sabotage, I'm literally from Stafford, I couldn't care less about sabotage, I'm sorry that your bad manners has gotten back to you on a review. As for Silliest review, I'd be really greatful seeing these kind of reviews to avoid any kind of hostile environment you give. And as for the glares yes, unfortunately you were caught glaring at me and my daughter as we walked back passed your shop window near the tills.

If I was a business and genuinely didn't realise I was rude or seen that I had upset a potential customer, I'd apologise immediately not call their review silly. This just highlights to me that I did read the room right and you're not an overly nice lady.

Reply to you... Unfortunately I believe you're the one who does not remember correctly. I could hear the hand blower going. Which meant your member of staff. Who was using the toilet. Who came out of the toilet. And asked me... Hello are you okay? Can I help?... like any member of staff would... then proceeded to work. Wasn't going to be very long in the toilet. We used your toilet. The only inconvenience was your attitude.

Once again I'm shocked to see a reputable business not owning up to their mistake or well...

The rudest café in Leek.

I've heard from a number of friends and family that the owners and staff here are incredibly rude and sadly can confirm the rumours are true. My friend from out of town asked if her 3 year old could use the toilet here and was told yes by one member of staff. Whilst queueing she was questioned by a second member of staff and very very impolitely told to go over the road to the chain café instead as this is a small independent business. Apparently letting a small child use the toilet is too much to ask... didn't realise it was £5 a flush. Don't worry! We will absolutely be going anywhere else and telling all our friends and family about the hostile environment there (not that many of them bother to go in as they've all witnessed you being rude on other occasions). Stupid making enemies in a small market town as had you been more polite my group of friends would have happily called in later for a meal and drink. Don't worry, we all saw you glaring at us as we merrily took ourselves off to The White Hart instead, where they were very happy to have us. Unlike you they actually have a [edit] decent vegan menu and friendly staff.

Visited today at lunch time, ordered 2 Quiches for myself and my wife unfortunately my wife found a hair in the Quiche showing it to the waitress who took it away and asked if she would like another to which she replied yes please waitress takes contaminated food to the kitchen and speaks to the chef, she then returned to say we’ll give you a refund as my wife had requested another we thought she would receive another portion after a few minutes i then asked if she was having another Quiche waitress replied no we are giving you a refund, I found that absolutely appalling customer service having visited on many previous occasions I will never visit again my wife didn’t even receive an apology when going to pay at the till I was told we’ve knocked off the Quiche as your wife didn’t want another one the waitress replied she but the chef said no totally rubbish customer care, at least there are lots of other cafes in leek to visit Cafe Apollonian get your...
