Atmosphere is good with plenty of friendly local faces, but the staff are a miserable bunch of kids who would quite clearly rather be somewhere else. Last time we went it was quiet and still all the tables were dirty and had not been cleared away. We waited forever to be served, the steak was OK but the chips and trimmings were terrible and cold, the pepper sauce tasted like some cheap packet thing it had no flavour and was again cold, the dirty table was eventually cleared away after I had asked the sow faced waitress to clear it (she seemed to be more interested in chatting to her mates in the corner than doing her job) but when she did she used a disgusting dirty tea towel to wipe the table with which left it smelling and sticky. The food and drinks were astonishingly cheap but it would be better IMO to charge a little more and serve something that you would actually enjoy eating, and employ staff that actually have some pride in their work. Overall If you're on a budget and want a quick fill on the way home then its probably ok, but for an evening out with friends...

Most Of The Staff Here Are Very Good At Their Jobs And The Food Is Actually Very Good. I Use This Gastro Pub Often And Will Continue To Do So.

I Will Say In My Opinion, They Need To Be More Open To Catering For People Of Different Faiths, EG. When me and my brother in law went for coffee, we decided to eat while there. Pretty much all of the food is not suitable for muslims due to it not being halal. My bro in law was quite happy to not eat but i felf more offended when we asked if they could put tuna on a cheese pizza as everything else isnt halal, they pretty much told us to go else where and to stop wasting there time.

This Was An Isolated Incident, However Still Shouldn't Have Happened. The guy taking the order EVEN REFUSED to ask the manager / Kitchen If they would accomodate my brother in law.

In conclusion, i would rate the following

☆☆☆☆ Food Quality ☆☆☆☆☆ Value For Money ☆☆ Clear Up Of Empty Tables ☆☆☆☆☆ Disabled Access/Facilities ☆☆☆ General Cleanliness ☆☆☆ Menu Suitability (on the Above Day)

OVERALL RATING...

Been here many of times and everyone has always been welcoming unfortunately this time it wasn't maybe it had something to do with the two brunettes that were on shift, I have been ID many of times and this time unfortunately I forgot it so my partner (with ID) went up to the bar whilst I found us a table. He gave me my drink and 5 minutes later a young girl came out saying I need ID I said I didn't have it but I've been served here multiple times she said "I need your ID or you have to return me the drink" I said okay may I get a refund and she said no you can't, I asked to speak to the manager and she claimed to be her she then brought out another young girl who said they couldn't refund me. My partner said that he wasn't leaving without a refund and the manager replied saying "your hard aren't you" and they refused to give us a refund still they then continued to mock and laugh at me and my partner. I was shocked by the attitude of the workers and...

Typical Weetherspoons but I'm going to rate the local customers five stars! Such fantastic, friendly people. We arrived Saturday night, it was busy. We were a group of nine with no chance of a table until people realised what we were doing. One table moved, including their food so we could get two together then another table realised and gave us one of their tables, people were offering chairs and suddenly, from a packed room we were all sat down at a table for 9 in what felt like seconds! Obviously won't happen every time, but what great people. Weetherspoons prices always make you smile and you know what you're getting with the food We had two drivers and were therefore happy to have the public car park outside, free in the evening.

It was very quite when we came to this historical old pub, in 1693 it was called the Green Dragon then in 1783 became the Swan & the swan with 2 necks, apparently a neck was a notch probably in the beak to denote ownership. Old beams have been revealed showing yet more characters and features Had a Traditional breakfast which came out fairly quickly and was what was expected from Spoons. Nice coffee whilst listening to the peal of church bells. Steps at the front door but there is a accessible entrance at the rear, No car park and toilets upstairs and an accessible toilet on the ground floor

A great experience for a meal on the way to work as stilt walking aliens at Haregate for Hallowe'en. Phoebe put a slice of fresh orange into our St Clements drinks. I ordered the mixed grill as it was steak Tuesday. However, it arrived with no lamb! The service received from James was a lesson in customer satisfaction to rectify this. Within in minutes he's radioed the kitchen and a fresh meat selection was delivered to my plate. James cannot be thanked enough for his perfect customer relation skills! Great team, great food and great price of £17 for 2 hot meals and 2 drinks.
