This place is absolutely gorgeous, both the interior and the food and not to mention the absolutely lovely servers. For starters we ordered the mix starter for one along with a vegetarian starter, which isn't on the menu but is simply various deep fried vegetables. All of it was delicious! Then for mains three of us ordered to share, so we had pad Thai, pad see Ew and chicken and cashews, the chef made the last dish for us as a suprise dish so I'm not sure if that's the name that appears on the menu. We also had the weeping tiger, which was a mouthwatering tender steak, it tasted so buttery and garlicky, I was in heaven. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken cashew dish as it was very gingery and I'm not overly keen on ginger, but the pad Thai and pad see Ew were devine. I took the leftovers home with me and had them cold the next day and it was just as good. We didn't have any dessert because we were far too full. The prices are alright but it does mount up when you get a few dishes to share, also I was over charged for one of my drinks which I wasn't too happy about but it was ok. My one criticism is that while the servers were very polite and friendly, they were very attentive, a bit too attentive. We'd be eating or drinking and server after various server would come ask if we needed more drinks or anything else, which is fine but it was constant. But then when we had finished at the end and wanted the bill, the servers were suddenly non existent! I'm rating it five stars for everything else though, mainly the food, the constant attention from the servers then the lack of isn't too big of an issue. On a side note this place also does takeaway, which is great too know...
Read moreTook my partners’s step father for his birthday meal - table booked for Saturday night 7:45pm I recommended that we go to this restaurant as i had been previously on a Friday night and had a lovely meal. It took a good 20 minutes before someone came to ask if we wanted a drink or if we would like to order. Starters took ages to come out. Only 2 of 3 came, it was almost cold and I wasn’t sure the chicken was even cooked- Which put me off a little. 3rd starter finally came after asking on its whereabouts and again that was also nearly cold. This happened to be Simon’s starter - who’s birthday it was. Not a good start.
I did make a lady aware of this situation, she said ‘it’s been one of those nights’
After a LONG wait for the mains, we were pleased that the food was hot and the chicken was cooked. The chips however were rock hard and not nice at all. The mains on the whole were alright. But we were all a little disappointed by this point.
Nobody came over to see if our food was ok. Nobody came over to take the plates without us asking. Nobody came to ask if we wanted the bill - which we didn’t really.
We went to the bar ourselves to request the bill, where again we had another long wait. To find we were expected to pay full price for the awful service we had received.
The restaurant cannot cope with a busy Saturday night, they are short staffed, seem to know it and don’t seem too bothered about it. ‘It’s one of them things’ Not good enough. Embarrassed to recommend the restaurant and won’t...
Read moreNot bad, tasty food, missed some of the finer touches best sums up this experience for me. We walked in, the lady behind the counter didn't even look up to acknowledge us, even trying to get her attention didn't help, we had to wait for one of the waitresses to come free in order for them to confirm our booking and then show us to our table. The restaurant was quiet, only a handful of tables had customers. We ordered set menu A for 4 people plus a couple of additions. The menus were left at the table for some reason, which meant some time later a different waitress wanted to take an order again. Not a problem just a bit odd. The starters arrived. They were extremely tasty, just one of everything for each of us. The fishcake looked a bit damp and soggy, but made up for its appearance in flavour. The mains arrived, minus the additions we'd requested, so we had to eat some of the meal until they arrived. For me it seemed a little low on portion size. Don't get me wrong, I didn't leave hungry, but the rice was just enough and the mains that went with the set menu were really for 3 not 4. Its a good job we did order the additional Pad Thai between us. Having said that, again the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the meal. Was it the best Thai restaurant experience I've ever had - No, could the service have been a little better - Yes, most importantly was the food good - Yes and would I eat here...
