Whether you're a foodie or not, you MUST eat here. Came for a belated valentine's meal and on menu change day. We enjoyed not knowing what the choice was before we came. The food was incredible and really reasonable pricing wise. We had starters, mains and dessert and couldn't fault anything. Everything is simple but purposefully done and there's no worries of style over substance (Like a lot of similaly priced places in town). Cantaloupe is clearly all about great ingredients and exceptional cookery. The staff were friendly, inviting and super knowledgeable. There were things on the menu I'd have googled but there was no shame in asking and the waiting staff were happy to share recommendations. The best plates we had were because the waiter, Tom, recommended them. Great come as you are, cosy atmosphere, good music and of course amazing food! Next time I'm going to request to sit with a view of the pass if possible!

This was a fantastic meal with some incredible cooking. The menu is pleasingly short, but with real breadth of choice. I would have been very happy with anything on the menu. For starters we shared a few dishes. The mussels were cooked so perfectly, we had to order bread to not waste the delicious cooking liquid. The mains were similarly cooked to perfection. The squid dish was wonderfully rich and balanced. The desserts included a chocolate tart with the finest of pasty bases and a wonderful zabaglione with strawberries. The drinks list had a great set of cocktails and wines by the glass. We had an aperitif of Picon Biere; a bitter orange liqueur mixed with a French lager. Delicious! And not something I had had before. Overall this small and friendly place has a great menu, cooked with such skill. Somewhere to relax and enjoy. I would have loved chairs, instead of stools, but otherwise can’t fault our evening here.

We came here for a belated birthday and early anniversary meal and it was perfect! Such a lovely ambience in the place and the food...the wine.. everything! was superb. We ordered dishes to share and everything was delicious. The wine was perfect, I had a beautiful rose which was recommended by our FOH staff which was sublime! My partner also enjoyed the beers that he ordered with our meal. Such a beautiful gem of a place in Stockport and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening...we will be back! x

Absolutely blown away by my experience at Cantaloupe! From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt instantly welcomed by the warm, inviting ambiance. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest felt special. It's clear the team takes immense pride in creating an unforgettable dining experience.

But let’s talk about the food – WOW! It was nothing short of exceptional. Honestly, the standard of cuisine here rivals some of the best spots in Melbourne and Singapore, places I’ve had the privilege of living in. Every dish was crafted with such skill and love, but the standout for me was the artichoke dish. It was pure magic on a plate, and as soon as I took my first bite, I was transported back to my childhood. The flavours, the textures – it felt like home, in the most unexpected and wonderful way.

I'm so grateful for this incredible experience, and I can't recommend this restaurant enough! If you're in Manchester and you're looking for a truly special meal, this is the place to be. I will definitely be back – it's hard to imagine anywhere...

I have to say after reading reviews that were all extremely positive, I booked a table for our wedding anniversary. The table was tiny and by the side of a wall and stools were provided for seating. I asked for a chairs which they kindly swapped for us but to be honest it wasn't the best area for a meal. We ordered olives and bread and butter for a bit of a starter which were really tasty. The mains came which was duck, fig and mint which was well cooked, but there was no offerings on the menu for any vegetables or potatoes (just the usual sort of things that you like with your main). I had some kind of stuffed pepper meal which was hugely disappointing to be honest, neither of the meals were hot just kind of luke warm. The meals were served on saucer sized plates and the food was finished in less than five minutes. I'm sorry that I have to leave this review but we were both looking forward to a decent meal, but on this occasion Cantaloupe didn't deliver for...
