My recent visit to Berretto Lounge was overshadowed by several disappointing aspects that significantly impacted the overall dining experience. I had high hopes for a pleasant meal, but unfortunately, encountered numerous setbacks that left me dissatisfied.
I opted for the chicken burger, but it arrived with a perplexing temperature contrast—while the exterior was cold, the interior seemed unnaturally overheated, almost as if it had been hastily prepared using a microwave. The inconsistency in temperature and texture indicated a lack of attention to detail in the cooking process. It was evident that the dish had not been prepared to the standards one would expect from a dining establishment.
To add to the disappointment, the service at Berretto Lounge was notably slow. It appeared that there were only two staff members serving a seemingly crowded establishment, leading to extended wait times for both service and meals. This lack of adequate staffing greatly affected the efficiency and overall quality of service.
The visibly overwhelmed staff struggled to manage the influx of customers, resulting in delayed service and a compromised dining experience. It's regrettable that the management did not anticipate or adequately address the staffing needs, leading to a decline in service quality.
While the ambiance of the place was pleasant and had potential, the subpar food quality and slow service overshadowed any positive aspects of the visit.
In conclusion, my visit to Berretto Lounge was marred by a poorly executed dish and unsatisfactory service due to inadequate staffing. The incongruity in food quality and the slow service significantly detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. Until improvements are made in both the quality of food preparation and service efficiency, I find it challenging to recommend Berretto Lounge as a dining...
Read moreIt's the first time in a long time that we have sat for a meal. This is a good spot to eat and drink before popping into the cinema.
The layout is spread out on wooden floors with quirky painting and mirrors scattering the walls. Anyway we were greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We chose a spot at the back which looked cosy and quiet (well until a giant family turned up).
The menu was diverse with a lot of healthy options. I decided to have a gin fizz cocktail and himself a coffee. To munch I chose a Mexican bowl which consisted of guacamole, pit beans, sweet potato, rocket, tomatoes and I requested some extra chorizo..himself had the Bang Bang chicken. This was in a almost satay sauce with brocoli and noodles.
Anyway the drinks came swiftly and my cocktail was a nice portion without a ton of ice. It was super tasty as well. My food when it arrived was nicely presented and tasted fresh. I was very glad I requested chorizo though! The chicken was also very tasty and just the right amount.
To finish I tried a another cocktail which was a rum tiki shake. This did take time to arrive but it was tasty as well.
Overall the service was nice when we had it but just little things like asking how the meal is and we felt a bit forgotten about towards the end. The food was good though and reasonably priced and...
Read moreI only dropped in at lunchtime for a drink, but my first impression of the place was that it was decidedly odd, at least as far as the decor is concerned. Victorian style fussy wallpaper that was just about discernable beneath a large number of what looked to be mostly 1950s and 1960s kitsch art (including the "Green Lady").
They have a reasonable wine selection and lots of lagers, but no real ale to be found either on draught or in bottles.
I took a look at the menu and there is a good variety at reasonable prices. The tapas in particular looked good with plenty of vegetarian options, which will please my wife. There are good breakfast and lunch offers, too.
They must be doing something right, as the place was packed. Some of that may be novelty value.
We already have places like The Vic that serve great quality food and drink but pay minimal attention to the decor. The Crown has great quality drinks but is lacking on the food and decor. I think Bendigo Lounge's nearest rival in Beeston is probably The Star, and maybe The White Lion.
Nice to see something new in Beeston, particularly with the demise of The Greyhound. I hope that...
