Madras spice Bredbury — Restaurant in Stockport

As a coeliac sufferer, the staff were knowledgeable and kept me informed of ingredients used to ensure it was safe for me to eat. Nice atmosphere, great service despite being busy.

We dined out as a family last night, all adults. As my previous post stated, the staff were knowledgeable on their ingredients/ menu, unfortunately last night was not the same. Whether last nights staff were new, I don't know, however none of them could advise on non gluten containing dishes. After 3 of them, in a huddle, at the bar, they came over with a multi page book trying to decipher what I could have, the whole of the 1st page showed I could have soup !

The previous visit was different, the waiter knew products that were prepared with gram flour etc making my choices more extensive. Needless to say we all left hungry. It never ceases to amaze me why, in the 21st century restaurants, chefs and public facing staff do not know their menu/products. There is always a good vegetarian choice, this is a lifestyle choice, however, coeliac sufferers do not have a choice, they become very ill, ultimately if they do not follow a gluten free diet it results in bowel cancer. Let's not exclude coeliac sufferers from the experience of dining out and produce a menu...

Decided to try here due to a friend living in the area and another friend offering the recommendation.

Place is of good decor and a nice size to not big but also not 2 small. Menus is good with everything reasonable price including drinks. 4 of us went with starters mains and extras with 2 round of drinks £35. Each. Food is really good quality and tastes fresh chicken was soft and tender and all food was very hot.

Down side to this establishment is the staff. The waiter we had was very moodey and service was very slow. At 1 point I was still eating my starter and the plate was taken before it finished. He jst seemed like didn't give to u no what's. I'd definitely recommend on food but on service definitely not. So all in all it's your choice.

my son ordered a meal to be delivered. The site said a 45m wait. After an hour and a half wait he phoned to ask where his meal was. The reply was "its on its way " so after another 15mins he phoned again to say his meal still hadn't arrived. They then said they didn't have his order that he had already paid for !!! Then finally it arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes later. He spoken to a member of staff and he promised him a free meal next order. So he ordered a meal and now they have told him they know nothing about a free meal. Absolutely disgusting service. We have been regular customers as a family even ate there Christmas day, which was a farse giving us wrong meals and forgetting drinks. Really disappointed will not be recommended them to...
