The Friary — Restaurant in Stockport

Had the most amazing experience here on the 5th of August me and my partner decided to have a bite to eat with our 3 children I met them there and they had already ordered but as soon as I had walked in I was greated with a lovely lady named Jackie and straight off the bat I was amazed by her amazing service it was on another level she was a real Ray of sunshine so attentive to every body she served and to us and our children iv never seen anybody like it the place should be proud to have somebody as lovely as her she deserves the world!

But that was not the only thing as we where asking for our our bill we had our hearts touched as unbeknown to us a lovely couple paid for our entire bill we couldn't believe it and as to why we deserved it but we where touched in a way you will never know and we really wish we could have thanked you from bottom of our hearts I know who you where as I had open the door as you left thank you soo much you are true angels and have restored my faith in the...

I just thought that it was okay really, and the staff seemed quite tired, and indeed stressed so I didn’t feel that much better myself (I won’t blame humans for being human)… though it really didn’t help that there was a noisy, aggressive, and rude family in here — I was put off before I even ate but I also thought that the food itself was just okay — perhaps it’s better to takeaway than to eat in here if anything.

Incidentally, the pie itself seemed unevenly cooked with some parts being hard, and some parts being soft — if I came back then I’d probably get a Holland's rather than a Greenhalgh's pie — how it looked here looks very different to how it’s advertised on the latter’s website — but who’s to blame? Well,...

I couldn't fault this chippy.. is easily the best about. I've eaten here a few times now and had the fish, chips, sausage, scallop, gravy and curry (not all at once obviously) but everything is always amazing. Being from a seaside town of Blackpool I hold chippy's to a high regard and never have found one that's as good as my local back home but this (hate to say it) has topped all of them.

The fish is banging. The gravy and curry are probably the best I've ever had. If you haven't already. You'll have to try it. Try it once and im sure it will be your Fav chippy forever. My mouth is watering just...
