The Milliner — Restaurant in Stockport

The Milliner is the first bar on the Davenport strip, and it's arrival marks a significant milestone in establishing a true nighttime economy to the area. Rediscovered and restored shop windows are well matched by an interior of green and white ceramic tiles, copper trims and copper table tops. In the ground floor bar there is a range of seating from high stools, bank seating, and upholstered chairs. There's a wide range of gins and other spirits, whilst 3 cask taps had Bollington beers when I visited, and are supplemented by a range of other craft beer options. The restaurant is on the first floor.

Like many small bars these days, there's one toilet for all. Runners meet on a Monday, and there is a quiz on a Tuesday.

Terrible owner! Rude and unprofessional. We were rudly told we couldn't enter after having been promised seats inside and already purchased drinks. We obliged and went to sit outside, but not before being accused of swearing at a staff member which did not happen. Instead of handling this gracefully and asking us to leave, the owner held my mates £600 phone hostage until he apologized to the staff member. After that we were given 5 minutes to finish our drinks before the owner would forcefully take the drinks from us, even though we went to the neighbouring property who kindly allowed us to stay at their table. Do not go here! Please don't support someone running their business this way. P.S.: The guys at the Funky Monkey are lovely, go...

It was my first time. A Saturday night. 6.30pm. The person in charge took my order then forgot about me. It was early, lots of staff available, chatting, serving other people. More chatting to each other instead of serving, collecting glassez. I had to go to the bar again, more waiting and other people getting served in front of me. My wine was brought to me in a hot glass. Next drink - a short measure - prosecco glass for a 250. Didnt take it seriously. Was p in charge again. Dismissed me.
