Visited today with my daughter and my friend for a birthday celebration. Booked a table in the family area and glad we did as all the tables were reserved. Went to the bar and placed my order, small carvery for me (charged at weekend rates due to the bank holiday) and Easter kids eat free main for my daughter. My friend ordered a regular carvery. Had already been told there was a problem with cooking the beef, and it wouldn't be available till 12.30pm. As we weren't fussed about having beef, we both opted for the turkey and gammon, with plenty of vegetables. My only complaint with the carvery was that the Yorkshire pudding was cold. My daughter had chicken nuggets, chips, and vegetable sticks. This came out promptly and was piping hot. For dessert, my daughter wanted an ice cream cone. On ordering, I was told no cones were available as there is no allergy information. So she ended up having it in a tub. We did get a flake as an extra. As it was my friends birthday we decided to have a cakeaway. She had already been told there were no boxes or bags available, but they could wrap up the cake to take home if ordered as a dessert. Went to order and was told no cakes available. I pointed to the fridge and was told they're fake. Unbelievable!! The girl did then say the cakes were getting prepared and would be ready later. My daughter went to play in the under 5 area, which clearly had older children in there running wild and was very run down. She wanted to use the grabber machine. However, it didn't work as expected. A lovely lady did refund us and then watched it malfunction. She then offered us a few toys as compensation. One happy daughter. On leaving, I visited the toilet, and both hand soaps were empty. Again, I reported this to the same lady. What I will say is, the food is decent, the staff are great, but the venue needs a refurbishment, it looks dated. To not have signature cakes available on Easter Friday is shocking. This was one of our main reasons for choosing to eat here. I haven't visited in many years, and sadly, I don't think I will be back anytime soon.

I'm afraid to say that my experience today left a lot to be desired. Spent £70 on 5 meals and drinks. Ordered and paid extra for pigs in blankets but there were none ready when we got to carvery despite having to wait 30 minutes for 2 of the meals. There was very little meat on our plates and we had to make up for the lack of meat by adding extra veg. I personally ordered an all day breakfast. The toast tasted stale, the eggs were thick with grease and the bacon and black pudding were inedible due to being chargrilled and burnt. Whilst I was offered an exchange of the bacon cooked on a flat grill I opted for extra sausage which I took home because I couldn't taste the food because the acrid taste of bacon wouldn't leave my taste buds. Following this we went to order puddings and told there were none. Yet we saw puddings coming out of the kitchen after. We checked and were then told that there were kids brownies and a few flavours of ice-cream. There was a notice saying because of suppliers they had no cake but they make there own go figure. They have an ice cream factory advertised on the menu but there was none and people in the queue after us were ordering pudding and managing to get some. What a total disaster. Should've stayed with our usual Sunday lunch venue.

We ordered 2 dirty burgers for the kids which were fine, and 2 carverys for me and my wife to find out after paying that they had no mash or roast potatoes but they had put chips out, who in the right mind has chips on a carvery? It wouldn't have been a problem if they informed us before we paid. So we ordered my wife a burger meal and me a mixed grill it took another 30 mins to come out and when it did rhe burger looked like it was roadkill and the mixed grill was terrible for £16. I approached the manager to complain for his response to be 'I'm not working' no one else came over to ask what the problem was. Definitely won't be returning as this is the 3rd bad experience we've had here now.... GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! Edit.. (1) no, we most definitely weren't told there were no mash or roast potatoes beforehand because we wouldn't have ordered a carvery. (2) Yes, you were eating when I approached you but didn't notice until I asked to speak to you as your food was hidden behind your laptop and paperwork you were doing at the time. (4) No, you didn't point me to anyone else let alone the duty manager on shift. (5) we waited 20 mins to reorder other food... don't be a liar you would think you'd be less unprofessional seen as you're a manager

Would not recommend this pub whatsoever. I ordered a mixed grill and chicken wings. I had a mixed grill put on my table but was asked 4 times what I had ordered. After stating a mixed grill and chicken wings each time my partner later went to the bar to order drinks and was told that they had gone to another table so was offered a complimentary pudding. No member of staff has even had the courtesy to come to the table and inform us that we will not be receiving any chicken wings. I have them asked to speak to the manager as I am not satisfied and was directed to a rude and abrupt lady in red stating she was the manager. I asked the bar staff for the manager 3 times. The lady stated a pudding had been offered in place of to another person in the table without my knowledge. This is considered acceptable by the restaurant but still no member of staff has even treated me with the general courtesy to inform me of the problem and that I I'll NOT be receiving my food. When my partner went to speak to the same lady she was made to feel like she was lying. My partner is in a job that requires a high degree of integrity and honesty, I cannot say the same for the staff in this establishment.

Whilst ordering the puddings the lady also kept cutting my partner off to take orders from her own staff for their meals so that they could get their discount.

I now see i have also been lied to as the lady is a team leader and is not management at all but with waiting for my party to finish their puddings and drinks (30 minutes) I realise the bar staff have lied in putting this lady infront of me when I have clearly asked for a manager.

There has been no offensive words used or anything in order to encourage such second class citizen treatment from this establishment and I am highly disgusted and ashamed to say that my hard earned money has been spent at this establishment when I am leaving the place feeling as though I am not even entitled to the food I had ordered.

This place is shambolic for customer service, the hierarchy chain is non-existant and the staff are anything but competent and have no sense of decorum nor manners.

This place may be trying to set up as a Karen's Diner as that is exactly how I leave the place feeling but having entered it believing it to be an upstanding establishment.

How wrong we can be about a place!!!

As well as all of this, the website for this place does NOT highlight that blue light discount is not available on Sundays. Having served in her Majesty's forces for a number of years and now further serving the public in additional roles I find this whole incident absolutely embarrassing and shameful.

For clarity, the carvery staff were exellent. The rest is shameful.

After having spoken with Tom, the actual manager, his cander and approach was completely different to that of the team leader.

Tom seemed to actually care that the inability to provide the ordered food to the correct table was a failing that is not the customer's fault. It was also highlighted by another customer that the demeanour and way that the team leader spoke to them made them also feel like they were second class citizens. This was highlighted also and Tom states he will be having a conversation with the staff in respect of this.

A refund was issued for the chicken wings and Tom's manner, approach, understanding and realistic reasoning now allows me to leave in a much better frame of mind than I would have had he not come over to the table to clear the...

Dear Brindley Farm, As a family we visit most Saturday mornings and enjoy our breakfast whilst we catch up on everyone’s week and see our grandchildren. So, imagine our shock as we rocked up for our normal session of hugs, food and excitement on Saturday to be greeted by your car park with 4 double decker buses (and they weren’t first bus)! The car park was also full of a very big crowd of people, who were dancing to some quite loud music. It wasn’t hard to deduce from this that there was some sort of wedding or reception taking place. There had to be in excess of 200 or even more happily dancing and also blocking off our normal entrance and the disabled parking spaces that we park in, (and before anyone asks, yes I am in possession of a blue badge). Being a little confused we drove around to the other entrance which is not normally in use. I was in the throes of making my way inside when another “possible customer “, pulled up beside us and then informed us that there was indeed an Indian wedding taking place and they had taken over the whole of the premises including the children’s play area and that they were shut all day and their normal Saturday “customers” were not allowed in. To say that we were a little bit disgruntled was playing it down a lot! Now I understand that this would have been a really good earner for the owners with all those meals and soft drinks thrown in as a whole package and the paltry amount that we spend here and all your other “customers” who come on a regular basis and provide your normal day to day business will lose hands down when you decide to host a very big event that can earn thousands of pounds cannot possibly compete with your normal breakfast crowd. And yes I am really really cross about this, there were no signs to say that your venue was completely closed for the day for a private party, “no sorry’s” extended that you couldn’t accommodate a a table for 4 in the play area when most weeks if you have around 20 customers in it is a busy breakfast session. It does make me question how much you really value your regular “customers”!

From a very disgruntled customer who had to leave you 1 star as it wouldn’t let...
