The Phoenix — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

We've made the trip to the Phoenix from Birmingham twice now and both times the service and atmosphere has been absolutely faultless. Really charming independent vibes, as many of the pubs and bars in Stratford are chain owned this place really offers something different. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, very knowledgeable about the excellent drinks selection on offer, including some great craft beers. They really went the extra mile to make sure our group were having a good time. They are very dog friendly ('dogs are more welcome than people' I was told more than once) and our cocker spaniel got spoiled with chews and treats. Great with children, offering high chairs for the babies we had brought with us. Excellent music selection, I think Pulp were every third song which we appreciated. Games consoles offering both retro and more contemporary games.

A special mention has to go to Tom at Impasto Pizza. Absolutely smashed both times we visited with both the New York style and Neapolitan style. By far the best pizza in the Midlands and Warwickshire and possibly best in the country. My partner and I are regulars at this excellent pub. A warm and comfortable atmosphere with a great ambience and background music. Since the change of management this venue has soared in quality and service. The very friendly team are excellent and can't do enough to look after their customers, the landlord and staff frequently delivers drinks to your table . A really good choice of drinks and great to see the kitchen open again for a good choice of Pizzas and light meals, all really good quality and value.It is versatile too, if you want a quiet evening with your partner or a gathering of friends the Phoenix has all you could want. A group of 10 of us + 3 babies and a dog travelled to The Phoenix pub from Birmingham.

What a cool pub. Such a relaxed and fun atmosphere with plenty of space. Super accommodating for our party with plenty of space around and lovely comfy seating.

We ate pizzas from the incredible Impasto Micro Pizzeria which is set up there. (Personal review left on their page too). The food goes really well with the environment.

Staff at the pub were incredibly friendly, cheery and accommodating, going the extra mile to make sure our pooch was comfortable too!
