Esquires Coffee Sunderland — Restaurant in Sunderland

Called into Esquires for the first time in a long time, when I first passed it was quite full so I decided to to call back around 45 minutes later, it was quite but it seems as though they could be operating a system to let the seating area clear as there was a sign up saying "No Seating Available" when I first went, however on my return I noticed all the tables & chairs were getting cleaned down, (which in my opinion was a very good idea if I'm right) and was then shown to my table which I asked for after I ordered. What I order was plain and simple and consisted of a latte, sausage roll and a slice of lemon drizzle cake, as for taste the sausage roll was the best I have tasted in along time and I informed them of this, looking forward to the next time I go to The Bridges, Sunderland so I can call into...

The pulled pork in my "melt" was refrigerator cold, inside a lukewarm baguette; the rest of the food was good to very good, but when I develop food poisoning from halfway reheated pork, I won't recall that.

The service at the counter was slower than molasses rolling uphill in January (and for what was I waiting? not for someone to heat my sandwich, I assure you) and the staff were mostly distracted and uncommunicative. Questions about food and payment seemed difficult.

Regarding payment: somewhat overpriced even if everything had been outstanding, which was not the case.

Bottom line: stick to coffees and maybe a pastry, if you visit. Do not expect value for money, quality service, or for basic food hygiene standards to...

Went into this cafe at 12pm with the wife and children. There was a table by the door available but was covered in rubbish and didn't look like they were planning on cleaning it so we moved it all to one side of the table. We then went up to place our order, tried to order 2 ham and cheese toasties for the kids but because there was none pre made they were not willing to make any. I then went to order a sausage sandwich off the menu to which I was told they have no sausage or eggs left.
