A braw chip shop. Appears to be family run in the old skool way by using lard for frying. Chips are very tasty. The Large cod was excellent, well cooked batter was crispy and tasty (and the perfect golden colour.) The jumbo sausage my other half had was nicely covered in crispy batter. The only downside was the peas were cold (and they'd only just opened.) The curry sauce is just on the right side of nippy. The regular portion of chips is just too small, and the large is too large. I was looking forward to our chippy tea tonight, the order was placed in advance of the shop opening( 5.30pm) so i was expecting a fresh order. I collected our order within 10 mins of the shop opening .To our disappointment this was not the case. The chips and fish had clearly been standing for a number of hours, every member of the family individually had i comment to complain about their food. Not great but not super terrible. Ordered 2x large fish and chips. Portion size was ok. Chips were cooked good. Fish batter was as pale as my relatives. Did not look appealing but cooked. Lack of seasoning no salt or vinegar. Overall underwhelming and not worth another visit. Its amongst the highest reviewed in Washington with some saying its the best chippy in Washington but I hope that's not true as otherwise I'll no longer be enjoying...
