I’ve ordered from this fish shop since late year 2018 had no issues up until lately, I’ve also read the shop is now under new management , ordered fish and chips the fish was undercooked batter was rather soggy “wet sponge like” and greasy , the chips where cold hard and dry to say the least gravy wasn’t cutting the dryness …… the portion sizes are now minimal handful of chips of that for total nearly £15 , sadly I won’t be ordering going forward

################Since I’m not able to respond to your reply , I’ve never been banned from the shop neither have I ever complained about food quality I’ve always ordered online and twice picked up from the shop in the whole 5 years I’ve ate at this place ! I do believe you have the wrong person ! My family doesn’t even live within the northeast ! Im not even from the northeast orginally , To now be a acused of trying to get free food when all I have done is leave a review of my true experience since new owners have taken over ! Not once did I ask to replace it , neither did I call up ! as you can see I have to find out the food wasn’t cooked by tasting it after trying a few chips which where soild ! Then moving on to the fish as you aren’t able to tell by the outside that something isn’t cooked properly ! Now that I find my self explaining to someone who clearly doesn’t understand ! I’ve also noticed by previous reviews when someone mentions about the services and quailty of food a repsond of anger and lies is replied with as sadly the truth isn’t what is like by your selves, excusing people of potentially tarnishing your business when it’s the FACTS of what people who are paying for a service are experiencing! Update Hi my second time ordering from here, ive left reviews on other sites aswell and i can honestly say the food is gorgeous , trust me ive tried every chippy going in northeast 40 odd yrs and this is on parr with queens cafe seaburn but roker deliver a massive plus,came again red hot batter on fish not swimming in grease light and fluffy again homemade chips and curry sauce to die for hubby got it after tasting mine last night and he is loving it i asked if they could add batter extra and they did Thank You so kind, hubby had fishcake aswell and he loved it, garlic mushroom garlic bread is lovely aswell, once again Thank you ive added photos but they dont do the food justice didnt get photo of chips etc hubby was away with them b4 i got a chance 🤣 Ordered cod bites and chips with curry sauce , all came red hot super quick got to say best cod bites ive ever had the batter was lovely and light and not swimming in grease they were gorgeous, the sperate chips and curry sauce were fab proper old school hhomemade chips and the currry sauce was fab and you get loads , deffo found my new chippy and delivery driver was nice polite and smiling , keep up...

This was always our go to place because the food is lovely but we just had a terrible customer service experience. My partner ordered online and forgot to include a note to call when they arrive as our doorbell doesn't work, so he phoned them only for them to hang up and leave the phone off the hook so he couldn't call back. When he kept calling and finally got through, the person was very rude and wouldn't listen to him, stating that the delivery person "hasn't even left yet" over and over. They seemed to assume he'd only called to be a nuisance and ask where the food is. When he did explain, the person on the phone cut him off saying "yeah yeah of course" then ended the conversation... The food is great but it's not great being treated like an annoyance because we were calling with important info...
