Spice Corner Indian Cafe — Restaurant in Sunderland

I visited Syed at Spice Corner Indian Cafe and I can say that I have not been disappointed. I have been in Sunderland for 2 and a half years now and have been dissatisfied with the curry houses I have visited, today is the first time I have managed to find anyone who ticked all the boxes. Firstly the standard for me is 2 poppadoms, pickle tray, which must include hot lime pickle, then a meat or lamb curry on the bone cooked down slowly with a garlic and coriander naan to soak up the goodness. No rice thank you. I was approached and sorted out by Syed straight away and the pickle tray came uncluttered and tasty as it should with fresh crisp poppadoms. Then 10mins later the best curry I've had in Sunderland for 2.5yrs arrived with a perfectly made garlic and coriander naan.. For me I've found the "gold vein" and I don't say this easily. But I have found it. Well done Syed and team 5star effort and off the scale. I will be back. As I am sure will many others. Don't change what you do...

Been to lots of posh looking Indian takeaways food not been consistent and been below par.

Passing Spice Corner this place on Hylton Road, Sunderland didn’t look like much from outside but one day last year decided to go in and order, basic inside with few table and chairs if you fancy eating in..

Took my meal home my god the food was amazing👌so don’t get fooled by the decor inside it’s s very clean. Ala-Udin the owner actually known for as a good chef in the town I am glad he still kept his reputation that of being a good chef👍

One of the best meals in a long, long time, and for the record, Mr Syed cooked for approx 20 people on a tight schedule and delivered perfectly, on time and to a deadline for a movie set! Bless him, everyone had only good things to say about the food. Curries were delicious and so flavourful. Naans were perfect mix of crisp outer and fluffy inside. Bhajis were unreal. Tikka chicken was seasoned to perfection. 10/10 from myself and the crew, highly recommended choosing Spice Corner for any event or to impress friends/family/colleagues....
