Newly decorated restaurant with nice decor, but really lacking attention to detail when it comes to actual food and service.
If you're looking for a place with nice aesthetics for Instagram, this might be the place for you. But if you're actually hoping for a 'fine-dining' experience or good quality food, you're much better off elsewhere.
The highlight of our meal was the hummus which was a nibble to start with, which I think says a lot. The pardon peppers weren't really pardon peppers as they were still way too firm, but the seasoning was nice.
We opted to skip appetizers and have mains which is where it went really downhill. I myself opted for the salmon which was described as having a yuzu dressing, as well as tenderstem broccoli which on menu is described as being 'sweet chilli'.
Firstly, when they brought out the mains, they brought out everyone's food, but completely forgot mine. So I then had to wait another 10 minutes for them to go back and cook it whilst the rest of my family ate. When it finally did arrive, it was some of the blandest food I've ever had in a restaurant. There was no hint of any of the Asian seasonings/dressings described on the menu, and it tasted like the kind of meal a student might make at university. Whilst it was cooked well and soft, it was very very disappointing considering how long it took to make and the price.
There was also just a general lack of attention in terms of service, despite us being right in the middle of the restaurant it must have taken us 15 minutes to grab their attention to order our drinks and food.
Overall a very disappointing experience for what is marketed as an upmarket fine dining restaurant. In reality it's more of an Instagram photoshoot with very average food at an...
Read moreTo start off with the positives the red carpet, music, atmosphere and the decor were really nice. I was quite impressed and everything looked visually pleasing also, the tables weren’t to close together so didn’t give a cramped feeling. The setting was nice and the trees, mirrors and lighting were spot on. The service was quite good and enjoyable, the waiter made us feel quite comfortable and everything was good from that perspective.
Now onto the negatives. There was a fire breather in which of course would’ve been nice just not in the setting of eating. I felt a bit put off the food cause I just wanted to concentrate more on what I was eating rather than someone swallowing a stick of fire. Furthermore, the food was very average. There wasn’t much taste to any of it now thinking of it. The wagyu bao buns were okay however, I think these are the cause for my illness. I feel quite bloated and sick from them still two days going. And personally would not go here again cause of how I am feeling from them. I eat quite a lot of food generally and didn’t expect to feel sick from them but straight after and the next couple days from the day I went, me and my table have felt quite I’ll, and I think it’s to do with them. Secondly, the chicken shish was quite bland and the rice lacked flavour. The spices and flavour didn’t hit the spot and I Honestly would have been better getting a chicken shish from my local Turkish takeaway. The lamb shish was bit better but the very bland also. The mac n cheese was quite nice, and I couldn’t fault that. The fries and chips were also good. However the main dishes disappointed and the starter I would avoid at all costs if you don’t want to be ill.
Overall was around £80-£90 and would only go there...
Read moreFirst time we went I thought it was 10/10 experience. Food was great but the service was even better. We came for a birthday and they made it excellent .Yes you are paying a premium but the service justifies this.
However, we returned last night for our anniversary and I can’t explain how frustrating it was.
Food was as good as last time - however the service was non existent clearly management has changed!. They claim to be ‘high end’ so the service should match everytime. Once I was seated the waiter referred to me as ‘mate’ but not in a polite way, more like a sarcastic tone. He kept this up ALL night. The waiter was clearly Bengali and knew I was, so he must have assumed he could talk to me as if he knew me as if we’re mates. Because he wasn’t referring to the table next to us as ‘mate’. If I was his mate, i’d ask for mates rates, but no I pay as much as any customer so why offer me half the service? They never came to our table to check if we were enjoying our meal. We even had to signal them to clear the table as they were non existent, the place had 5 tables max at the time.
As I left the restaurant I then spoke to the manager. Who looked like he himself didn’t want to be there. Once I told him the issue he seemed like he didn’t care. He even said “oh, maybe you know each other” ??? Sorry, regardless even if we are from the same place, you should offer me the same service you do with other customers? He then said he would “feed this back” and then we left, no thank you from the staff, for coming, nothing.
The truth is, the food was good, but so are other restaurants, I came back for the experience and they gave me the...
