Tamworth Castle Grounds — Attraction in Tamworth

Medium size country park. Go off the beaten track,( by the snowdome), away from the main grounds and there is a lovely quiet lakeside walk. Back in the main grounds of the castle, there is much to see. The castle itself is worth a visit, ( for a small entrance fee,) informative of local history and entertaining and interactive for the kids. The main grounds have picturesque, planted flower beds ,surrounding the bandstand, which regularly has free summer concerts by local brass bands and folk artists A large, newly refurbished, free, children's playground . Large grassy areas to have a kick about, picnic tables , a cafeteria, outdoor gym, skateboard Park. At the far end of the grounds there is the Namco bowling alley, crazy golf, a pub/restaurant and a little further across the road bridge there is the Snowdome, an indoor real snow skiing slope, which also houses an ice rink, swimming pool and gym.
