Had a fantastic experience at The Phoenix in Tamworth! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Georgina was especially wonderful—friendly, approachable, and incredibly attentive. She went above and beyond when one of our party experienced a drop in blood sugar due to diabetes, making sure they were looked after swiftly and with genuine care. The food was lovely, with a great selection of drinks to choose from. The breakfast was particularly good—fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. Overall, a brilliant visit with excellent service. Highly recommend!

Very few people in on a Saturday lunch time. Ordered food at 12:25. Arrived @ 1:40. Asked twice where our food was. Told the chef had to take his break, staff very ‘take it or leave it attitude’. Food was luke warm. We will never use this place again. Paid £4 for a portion of chips. As shown on the photo!!

Great cask ales and great food too. It may take a while for your meal to be served but it is worth the wait. There are many lagers and ales to try while waiting. You will not be disappointed.

I don't like writing negative reviews especially my first of the year but when I have to I will. We booked a table for the phoenix online but really there was no point for multiple reasons one of them was the only people in there were drinkers. We visited here after a lovely day at ash end farm in Tamworth, when we entered the place i knew this place was not what it seems from the pictures on trip advisor it looks like a lounge type place instead what we got was very disappointing like a cheap wether spoons and very under staffed. we ordered through the app I ordered a triple burger with hot buffalo and chrispy onions, my wife had the hunters chicken and our baby had the veg burger. The burger was ok at best there was no heat from the sauce and to be honest the three patty of meat was underwelming more like a slight upgrade from fast food burgers with the same dressing as such, the bun just disintegrated the bottom just went to a sloppy mush and the very small portion of chips (the kids meal got more quite comical), The hunters chicken was also underwelming the chicken was chewy and tasted like cheap budget chicken you would get from a budget shop and also lacked the tangy & Smoky BBQ flavour of hunters chicken so most of the food was left. The kids veg burger, chips & Beans was the only meal that was seemed to be enjoyed mostly due to a hungery 1yo, overall the food was just lackluster and very underwelming and looked like the food had just been pre cooked and frozen and just re heated. But this is most probably due to the lack of staff, with our order we ordered a lemonade and a OJ to say the least our food arrived before the drinks and had to be asked for. The staff seemed to be trying and to there credit were helpful the chef was seen a few times taking the food out to people as again I'm guessing due to lack of staff and even checked up on us and was very friendly. Overall I would give the phoenix a 3/10 and that's only because of the staff otherwise it would be a unfortunate...

One of the worst experiences eating out in a long time. Not sure why this place is selling food, definitely not targeting diners. Loud and rowdy like a loud night time back street bar. Buy when you are hungry you just get on with it. Not sure the venue can do a lot about that, but what they are in control of is customer service and food. We had a dirty glass with lipstick on it, in fairness these things happen and it was resolved. Then after a long wait my partners food was completely wrong.....we sent it back to be changed ...then my burger and chips come out....it looked like something from a school canteen , with tiny shrivelled over cooked burgers and cheap bun....you can get far superior good for less in the town...anyway...again I was hungry so went to eat it.....the burger with no sauce or extras and just cheese was covered in gherkins and sauce.....with all these issues I was not willing to wait for more as this was too many mistakes....the bar lady had attitude and no interest in gving me a refund...manager met we with equal scorn and argued it was a mistake....3 mistakes in fact...i have no interest in arguing ....I wanted an apology and a refund...which I finally got...but no apology.....I will be posting this on TripAdvisor, Facebook, Google, twitter and anywhere else in the hope your managers and owners and potential customers can prevent this...

So I went for Breakfast this morning, and the gent on the bar had very basic understanding of customer service. Didn't smile one bit, looked away as much as possible, and even had attitude when asked to have no ice in a drink...

When collecting the change from our order, he dropped the change from his hand and it went over the bar. I'm not sure what training programmes you have here, but they need an re-look.

We waited over 35 minutes for our breakfasts, to be dropped off and left at the wrong table. When the waitress dropped it at the table, she stood talking to the customers for a few minutes and walked off, knowing the breakfast weren't for them...

I guess you come accept standards at chain pubs but do the staff and managers really not care about the service and standards they show to the public?

Hope they clock on and improve because it was terrible. Did not feel welcome and the staff did not care. No apologies, no friendly approach. Just...
