short version: great personally made burgers, steak from local butcher ground and made on the premises, I had the black and blue, and just perfect seasoning, not overpowered with spices, and just the right amount of Stilton cheese. Wife had chicken caesar salad which she said was great, both dishes were finished off.

Long version: On a road trip from South to North, needed to find something to eat, anything would do by this point.

We stopped off at random in Tamworth, and wandered around taking in the town while looking for somewhere.

Passed Woodshed Burger; it looked closed. Wandered around and found the usual generic types of places, came back to find Woodshed Burger open, and they were able to fit us in on-spec. Wife had already decided that a caesar salad would suit, my choice of burger came down to the smokey one or the black and blue, chose the black and blue.

We noticed that the music playing was a selection of classic 70's & 80's beat pop; Joy Division, Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, and I think the original version of Everybody Wants Somebody To Love, good choice of music that got us interested while waiting for the food.

Service was pretty fast considering we were on-spec, that 2 4-top tables were already seated by the time we had wandered around town and come back, and a third table was seated while we were being served, and that there were only two front of house staff, who we later found out were the owners.

If you live in Tamworth and haven't been here - this is a MUST! If you're into burgers and don't live in Tamworth I'd say it is well worth the trip.

As you can tell from the photos, the food is mouth watering, consistent and classic. The service is inpecible, and for a small cosy business I have no idea how the staff keep so friendly, kind and attentive to everyone in the restaurant. They must really love what they do.

I tend not to give 5 stars on every area, but there was seriously nothing they could improve on from my 3 visits to far.

The price is really good value as I've had far worse for far more cost. The decor is simple but pleasant, and location is maybe the nicest little lane in Tamworth Town.
