We popped in for a lunch on Saturday 16/8/25. Ordered two plates of Cod and chips. It came fairly promptly, (in the time it takes to cook frozen fish). We ate upstairs because the tables downstairs appeared nailed down and too low for my wife. The food came with a generous basic salad garnish and that's as good as it got. The chips were frozen crinkle cut, cooked ok but tasteless. The fish, advertised on the menu as cod was the kind you buy in any supermarket frozen section. Cheap reformed grey mush that was probably Basa or Vietnamese river fish. Tasteless and awful. £19 for the both, which means £9.50 per plate or crap, doubled. I should have said something, but being a former chef, I bit my lip for fear of "getting started". As a Devonian I'm embarrassed there are still places in this country that can serve up that which my cat would have turned...
Read moreMaybe it was because they were busy, but that has to be the worst food we have ever been served. The meal consisted of cod and chips. Secondly, when the 'Food' finally arrived 'and in my opinion' the cod was clearly cooked from frozen, barely warm, undercooked, very watery and of extremely poor quality. We walked out in disgust. As I said at the start it was busy, but that is no excuse for serving up food 'that in my opinion' was disgusting. A real shame because the rest of our experience at the airshow...
Read moreHaving looked at several places for a quick bite, and been shocked by quotes of £10 a time for a burger and £7 for a cheese toastie, we happened on this place by accident and decided to give it a go, not really expecting much but starving and desperate for anything that didn't break the bank, had outside seating away from other people (as our son has autism and needs a quiet spot) and could cater to his limited diet. What an eye-opener! We got the big breakfast, scampi/chips and salad, two children's fishfingers/chips/beans meals, two milkshakes, a mug of tea and a can of pop for under twenty quid and it was absolutely superb! Beautifully cooked, fresh, nicely presented, quick service and nothing we asked for was too much trouble. This place is...
