The View Bar & Cafe — Restaurant in Teignbridge

The theatre shows are great as ive read. The frontage cafe is??. I ordered an Americano Coffee.. med or large?..medium..£3..expensive you may say..yes very expensive i know. Came in a small tapered cup..the coffee was 3/4 inch from the top..thats the widest part. I reckon it's the dearest cup of coffee ive ever paid and the smallest... 'Right ive had the sample..please bring me the coffee' Absolute RIP OFF, god knows what the other products cost. I just thought "ive been ripped off again". I'm retired and very experienced in business and how to give value for money..this is just an example of the disgraceful situation of this country..there's "nothing great about it"..its a dump. No wonder so many are moving abroad. Perhaps god knows whats happened to gb. I won't thank him..i'm a realist and non believer. This sounds all very serious i hear you say..but i'm one of millions that know whats happened to this country..just read the news daily..what can we blame..the idiots that run this miserable country.. who are the people that you voted for, true brits or?..the fraudulent and lies of these mp's..claiming expenses on fictitious homes. Look at the millions in poverty..suicides, crime from foreigners, increased crime of those in serious difficulty. Ask yourself. Just a simple coffee can lead to this..its so common among decent people..take it from me and millions of others. Recently took the kids for the third time so our reviews are probably accuate. Nice view and clean premises. Though Seating is a little tired from use. It's a long narrow space with comfortable but crampled booth sesting but clean toilets. Friendly staff though they don't check on you or always remeber everything you order.

But the issue was the food vs price. Yes it's a cafe but it's priced more like a low end restaurant?

The menu is basic popular food like burger and chips etc. though the meat seems to be cooked from frozen and not fresh or hand made. Or that's how it tasted to us. And the veg options were limited and sadly our meals did not look as good as the menu photos.

The result was equivalent to McDonald's so completely fine...And tasty too but you'll pay 15-20 £ a head for that basic food. We had no issues with the chips.

The latter gets expensive with children / friends though I think there was a kids menu but it was even more basic and seemingly also not fresh ingredients.

You're paying for the view and it's a nice view and the food is adequate and the environment is food. Everyone seemed happy. But for the price we hoped for something a little bit more special. It's fine. If they used better / fresher ingredients...

They do not know how to make a proper mojito, my daughter and I both ordered one. They came in a half pint glass filled to the top with clear liquid and a lot of ice, there was one small mint leaf cut up into small pieces floating on the top. They tasted like pure soda. When I spoke to the waitress she said she would put another shot of Bacardi in them both. They still tasted like just soda water. We couldn’t drink them. I took mine to the bar and asked the young lad there to taste it to see if he could taste any Bacardi. He said he couldn’t drink alcohol, and the girl next to him said, there is an extra shot in there I put it in myself, at which she pointed back to the bottles behind her saying I put in that white rum. Which was not Bacardi and why we couldn’t taste any Bacardi. They had the cheek to charge me an extra £6.00 for the two extra shots of Bacardi, which were not in our drinks. My advice don’t order a cocktail...
