Trade Winds — Restaurant in Teignbridge

We are in the area on holiday and Trade Winds was recommended to me.

We were very lucky to be able to dine here as they were fully booked but arriving at 5.30pm meant we could squeeze in before the table was needed for another sitting later on.

We were so glad we got to eat here. The staff are simply superb and Nick could not have been more welcoming.

This was a particularly special meal as I have been very unwell (and still struggling), and this was the first meal out for me in over a year.

The rump steak and prawns I had were delicious, our son loved his spaghetti bolognese, but TOP TOP marks go to the houmous and Kleftiko. Simply stunning, perfectly seasoned and the lamb was unbelievably tender. The best we have had outside of Greece.

Amazing!!! My parents chose to eat here during our stay in Teignmouth and they were shocked at how amazing the food was! Personally I didn’t eat there as i joined a bit later for drinks, but they couldn’t stop praising the food and wished I had eaten with them. The restaurant was dog friendly which was perfect and the owner and staff were incredibly nice. They even took my boyfriend who is a chef to look round their kitchen and talk to the chef who used to work in Michelin star, so my boyfriend was very happy as he loves talking to other chefs who are passionate about their jobs. Attended after several positive reviews however I was left disappointed and confused by all the 5 star reviews. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the only reason I do not give it less stars. I and other members of the party found the food to be extortionately overpriced and lacking in significant flavour. Gyros came with what appeared to be a single shop bought pitta which is dissatisfying.
