TERRIBLE!! We booked a table to go to the smokehouse in broadstairs to then get a message to say they won't be opening this evening but the sister company is 7 doors down and they will be open. We found out it 2as just because they didn't have many bookings, Was quite happy to swap didn't really mind. Plus it was steak night so we ordered a steak each which hadn't even been seasoned was supposed to be medium and medium rare the thinner steak was absolutely cremated my partner couldn't even eat it. Mine was thicker so was edible, onion rings tastes of pure fat! Dressing was smothered over both salads rather than in a pot on the side so we had no choice. They did take our drinks off which was 2 cokes, and the steak got taken home for the dog. Worst 30 quid spent should have gone to spoons. Also the place was freezing! Avoid at all costs. Travelled over from the other side of thanet, booked days in advance for 2pm saturday 13th July on their website (which stated they were open from 12-10pm that day), had a text to confirm our booking. Turned up to the place closed. I am not the only one to experience this by the looks of the reviews just now. I had to telephone them when I got there to find out what was going on. The staff member that answered the phone seemed to have no clue as to what her job was, what had happened, nor did she apologise. There was no contact from the restaurant prior to us turning up, to inform us that they would not be open.... completely unprofessional and such a disappointment from an apparent good restaurant. Took my wife for a birthday meal, we both ordered the ribs, when they arrived they looked amazing, but that didn’t last!! There was more fat than meat!!, chips tasted of old cooking oil, my wife hardly eat any food as she was disgusted and the quality of the food I ate approx half the ribs and then started to encounter the fat aswell so I left mine We had a word with the waitress who apologised immediately and then we were approached by the chef, who clearly told us most of the ribs are fatty but I still have to serve them?? We mentioned the stale oil taste on the chips but she insisted the oil was changed this morning(really??)
