Perico Lounge — Restaurant in Thanet

Everyone leaving a positive review here doesn't know half the story. This lounge is a laughing stock compared to the other lounges, it just recently opened not that long ago and is already showing obvious signs of failure.

It's understaffed and begging other people from different lounges to come in and staff, it's management is full of people who cannot manage an establishment even if their life depended on it and, despite their struggling condition, management continues to bully their employees out of the workplace.

Most of the people I have spoken to, who have left Perico, have either left due to receiving next to no shifts or just downright bullied out of the position. They under-utilize their staff and their management is either plummeting the lounge on purpose or just fed up with their job.

I was recently informed that the main guy running this place is potentially facing the sack, and for good reason. No wonder these guys are under-staffed, no wonder it has some of the lowest TripAdvisor reviews compared to other lounges and no wonder it has some of the longest waiting times to be served compared to other local restaurants and other lounges.

The waiting times are ridiculous and continue to get worse with every member of staff they under-value. Terrible...

We came for soft drinks and dessert on a Sunday afternoon. Firstly, there were two numbers on the table, we put on the one that looked more professional as couldn't get a member of staffs attention. Turned out to be the wrong number and a staff member was very sarcastic and rude when they said we'd put on the wrong number. I explained there's two on the table and he said "well that one wasn't right" not very friendly or professional.

Our drinks came but the dessert didn't, I asked where the churros were and again got told we'd put in the wrong number and they were coming.

Waited a further 15 minutes, I went in to ask where there were again and the staff member was at the kitchen side complaining about us. I had to walk off as didn't want to be rude but couldn't believe the absolute rudeness. Churros came and were cold and chewy.

Secondly, I went to use the disabled/baby change toilet to be told it wasn't working. I managed to get into the ladies and found a poor lady changing her baby on the floor as she had nowhere else to do so. This definitely needs sorting.

Won't be coming again. Very disappointed as it's right on the seafront and lovely to sit somewhere with a view but the sarcasm and total rudeness was awful and very...

I hope it's just teething problems causing this place to be terrible. They have only been open 5 weeks. I should caveat this review by saying that they did refund us £20.95 on a £66 bill without fuss, which I appreciated.

Pros: lovely view kind staff drinks nice

Cons: service was so slow (45 mins +) food arrived cold food quality was abysmal. Specifically, the fish finger sandwich was served in cheap brown bread, with finger marks in it. The hummus had been out so long it had a skin on it and tasted like it came out a cheap tub. I could see the manager returning food to the kitchen because it was coming out cold (clearly trying!). The tenderstem broccoli was over cooked and cold. One pita bread came out fridge cold and one was warm - both were anaemic!

I've eaten at other resraurants in this chain and they were fine.

However, I won't be coming back to this branch.

Sadly I've had to leave a bad review as despite the partial refund, all the food we were served was poor, and it ruined our day in Ramsgate. (With the exception of the edamame guacamole which was nice.)
