The Waterfront — Restaurant in Thanet

The restaurant is sighted above the pub. Having Sunday lunch with a live band playing underneath is not an ideal environment while eating. On arrival, i was not at all impressed with the restaurant manager / owner. His rapport with customers was non existent. The ambiance of the restaurant was exceptionally plain, with no real atmosphere. Seating near the windows in bright sunlight gleaming through the window is not ideal when you have to wear sunglasses to eat your meal as there were no sun blinds at the window. The food was nothing special. It was a bit off putting to see the kitchen staff / chef coming out of the kitchen into the dining area dressed in T' shirt and jeans collecting personal belongings from behind the door at the top of the staircase then back into the kitchen again ( quite unprofessional). The female waitress was exceptionally pleasant and worked really hard and made us feel very welcome with good customer service. On the whole, it was somewhere to have Sunday lunch, but my guests and I would not choose to eat there again in a rush. The management need to think about the structure on how to run restaurant if they want to survive in the catering industry. It could be a really nice restaurant, but it needs a proper experienced catering manager to organise staff, the setting up of tables, correct service and...

Parked outside this place on a Sunday. What an amazing place . Atmosphere was amazing music was great and loud just how it should be . Everyone enjoying them self's dancing smiling . What a place . Very smart move to have Karaoke there on multiple nights; "McDonalds with beer" is a desert of dullness, pretty much nothing, done and dusted opposite, most bars are either closed or desolate, but The Waterfront gets the balance exactly right. Great singers, great music, lovely bar staff and and exceptional fun.....the opposite to that down-at-heel, microwave meal hell hole opposite. Incredible night,...
