The Royston Micropub — Restaurant in Thanet

We dropped by late evening not knowing about the place. Apparently it had only been open for 5 or 6 months? It was great. The view inside was obsursed by the slight condensation on the windows. (It was a cold February evening) so we had to peer in.

The beer storage room is behind a floor to ceiling plate glass window so you can see the beer. They have a great electric mini winch to lift the kegs / casks up without disturbing them which was cool to to watch.

We were fortunate to end up chatting briefly to the brewer who I assume had just brought over / installed a couple of ales. It was a very friendly and relaxed vibe.

A wide selection of board games, gins, very dog friendly, owner was very chatty and friendly. We'll definitely be back. Great pub with a definite touch of SteamPunk too!

Top place for cask beer in Broadstairs, hands down. Super friendly, community focused place with a great selection of local beers and great stuff from across the UK constantly rotating. If you like your craft beer, then worth saying that you'll often find the likes of Cloudwater, Burnt Mill, Wylam, Track, Burning Sky etc pouring from a very good gravity system. The Royston team really look after their beer well. For anyone coming down from London, this is an ideal spot by the station to start/end your day here (at a much more favourable price point than you'll be used to). Good cider, wine, spirits...

Just brilliant! What can I say? A great selection of ales and ciders which are changing regularly. I defy anyone not to find something they like. Thanks to Andy and Sam, brilliant attentive service.
