Best value for money cafe and service around
I’ve been going to this cafe for a little over a year now and it has become a weekly visit. The staff are the friendliest I have came across and the food is the best bargain locally I can find. The portions are the perfect size and I’ve never left hungry.
Since going to the cafe I have become well acquainted with the owners and the team they have which seems like one big family. All members are approachable and treat you like a friend instead of a passing customer.
The cakes are phenomenal and homemade by the owner which is extremely refreshing as most cafes now buy in from resellers and don’t quite take the edge off the same.
Every meal/drink I’ve had has always been cooked exactly how I’ve requested it and even on busy days they’ve never let me down. I’ve advised a few more my friends to also go to the cafe and they also share my views which isn’t a surprise at all.
I’d fully recommend trying the full English breakfast as the portions are perfect and luckily unlike most places, if there is anything you want substituted they’re always welcoming (as I don’t like mushrooms)
Keep up the hard work and thank you for always being...
Read moreUpdated 30 07 2022 A one line reply would be sufficient, an apology for poor service, rather than many rambling smug excuses. I only criticised the assumption of my needs and being shouted at as I left.
Original Review..... Looked nice when I arrived hungry. 2 or 3 tables outside occupied and 1 guy sitting inside. As I approached the counter to order I was advised there was a 25 minute wait, I could see 4 orders on the table, before I could open my mouth I was once again told oh it will be around 20 minutes! I only wanted a cup of tea and a snack from the selection on show, but wasn't given the chance to speak. As I left they shouted at me 'it's because it is all cooked fresh'. Making assumptions of customers needs is not a good policy, it would be to be more business like and polite to ask what I want before telling me I will have to wait 20-25 minutes for it. I walked up to the former butchers shop nearer the bridge and was asked what would you like? tI ordered a sausage roll and a cup tea to take away without any fuss, lovely...
Read moreWe went down this morning for breakfast and were greeted by warm smiles and friendly staff. There was a great selection of food, at very reasonable prices. They even accommodated single item requests for my six year old daughter. They then asked if we’d like our daughters food cutting up before it comes out so that our food doesn’t go cold while we do it - what a lovely gesture, it’s the small things that make a big difference! They bought her food out on a small plastic child’s plate which was great, and even asked if we’d like her to have plastic cutlery or normal. When we said normal cutlery, the lady even made sure that the knife wasn’t too sharp. The food was lovely with generous portion sizes, and a free tea/coffee/juice with the adult breakfasts. We will definitely visit again, and highly recommend to anyone in the area. Thank you for such a...
