My wife and I attended an organised bridge event of 16 people and had a fabulous lunch. Thank you Arun and your team who looked after us all so well. We look forward to visiting again soon and we enjoyed your delicious food immensely- I particularly enjoyed the fish curry and lentil curry. Five stars says it all!
I visited again yesterday 3 February 2020 and Google would not allow me to make another review, so I have added the following as an edit to the previous one above:
As I joined my wife’s bridge group some time ago we played here again yesterday and I can say the lunch was amazing. We were a group of 16 again although with some different people this time and the event and lunch was as good as previously with a superb the selection of dishes. It was a really fun event and we were looked after so well - Dana behind the bar and Sam and his team looked after us with the food. My only regret is I didn’t take pictures of the array of dishes to include in this review nor did we get to meet the chef to express our thanks but hopefully they will see this review and know how much we appreciated everything. We live nearby and hopefully on the next visit with our group, I will rectify that and be able to post pictures and thank the chef personally. if only my standard of bridge matched the food of the White Bear, I’d be a great player! Thank you everyone from Michael and...
Read moreWe had a burger in the pub and it said it was home made so we tried it. It was absolutely foul, there was no way it was homemade, it tasted like it was one of those pre cooked rustler burgers. It took five minutes to come to our table from when we ordered it which was a bit suspicious in the first place. I am not even sure what meat it was as it was very pale. Also the salad that came with it was not very inviting . It consisted of iceberg lettuce, and a small bit of tomato and cucumber. All that for a costly £10.. will not recommend the pub menu at all. If serving a burger that is the simplest thing to cook and it stated it was home made, then I dread to think what the rest of the menu tasted like. Very...
Read moreTook my husband & Father-in-Law for a 'Sunday Roast'. "Worst they've ever had"!!!! Everything was over-cooked (as though it was pre-made & re-heated?). Veg. was extremely soft, not crunchy; Yorkshire pud. was chewy; Meat was very very well done & very rubbery/chewy! ... They shouldn't serve a traditional dish if they don't know how to make it to at least an average standard!! Also, I had 'Fish & Chips' and again it appeared pre-made & re-fried! (the batter was dark & the fish was chewy). Overall, a very disappointing lunch!
Waitress: very pleasant. Room/decor: nice. Price: ££; Approx. £15 per head for main only, including tip. Noise: it wasn't busy,...
