East Of The Water Chinese — Restaurant in Torridge District

I ordered a Takaway from this restaurant this evening. The lady on the phone was very polite, helpful and knew the menu. It was delivered 20 minutes before expected which was good however sadly the food was very disappointing dispite an hours wait and not at all worth the £16.50 I paid for it. I ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup which was nice and as I would expect (no added artificial sweeteners) When it came to the main (Singapore Veg Rice Noodles) The presentation was poor and dull. The brochli was cooked well with a bite however the noodles were a dull brown colour and there wasnt enough vegetables. Not much flavour. I only saw the odd tiny bit of pepper. I threw it in the bin after a few mouthfuls. Then I had a side order of spare ribs without bbq sause. Barely any meat, dry and very fatty. I wouldn't even feed this to my cat! Won't be ordering from here again unless significant change happens.

I love the food here. Easily the best chinese restaurant or takeaway in Bideford. I've tried each of the places in Bideford and found the food and service here vastly superior. If you do give it a go try the chicken cantonese style. Its made using their own special sauce that I've not seen elsewhere so definitely worth a look if you like trying new things. Each time Been and ordered food for takeaway it came out quickly, including when. We had food delivered and it came in under 30 minutes (which was faster than they estimated on the phone). The service in the restaurant was also quick, warm and friendly. The place is well decorated and in good condition. The toilets requires you yo go outside to get to them but they were clean and well maintained. Very bad experience yet again for the third time!!! Absolutely no sympathy for missing food off our order and then returning to receive it only being given prawn crackers! 😆 ( Which are free in most places) Disappointed with the food in general and all members of staff weren't wearing ANY masks including the delivery drivers who were in and out. Definitely won't be returning there. All in all I drove 24 miles to receive missing dishes by the time I got to eat, it wasnt enjoyable.
