Pub Review near Old Trafford, Manchester ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆

If you're visiting Old Trafford and looking for a classic British pub experience, this place hits the spot. Just a short walk from the stadium, The Bishop Blaize offers a solid mix of comfort food, good beer, and a lively football atmosphere — especially on match days.

🍕 Food The pizza was surprisingly good for a pub – generous toppings, crispy edges, and nicely balanced flavors. Perfect for sharing with a pint. The fish and chips were classic – golden, crunchy batter and thick-cut chips, served with tartar sauce. It’s not gourmet, but it’s exactly what you'd want from a traditional pub.

🍺 Drinks They’ve got a decent beer selection on tap – from lagers like Coors to darker options like Guinness or a local ale. Prices are reasonable, and they often have offers (like £1.99 cask ales). The pint glasses even have custom designs which add a fun local touch.

🎯 Atmosphere Inside, it's a football fan's haven – decked out with memorabilia, screens showing live sports, and a buzzing crowd when matches are on. Outside seating is a bonus on sunny days, and there’s even space to get some work done with a pint in hand.

👥 Service Staff were friendly and efficient even when it was busy. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, and you won’t be waiting long for your food or drinks.

💸 Value for Money You’re getting exactly what you pay for — big portions, solid drinks, and a front-row seat to local pub culture. Ideal before or after catching a match.

📍 Location Right on the route to Old Trafford, it’s a perfect pit stop. Expect crowds on game day, so arrive early if you...

Spent 3 weeks in Manchester working and staying at the Copthorn Hotel which is walking distance from The Bishop Blaize, so where else would I go for value food and drink. I have travelled the country working away from home and have always used Spoons whenever possible for my sustenance because of the value for money they offer and have never had a problem until visiting this establishment. First week I ordered the madras on the curry night and was asked if I wanted the option that included the mango chutney popadoms onion barji and nan bread which I opted for. When it came there was no mango chutney (which is still the case 3 weeks after) and the onion barji was totally cremated to the point it was inedible. I returned both mine and my colleagues asking the lady serving for replacements which we could eat and also enquired where the mango chutney was. The manager came over and said there was no chutney and informed us that the onion barjis were "coming out like that". He offered a 70p refund for the onion barji but nothing for the lack of mango chutney. When he returned with the 70p he slammed it on the table and walked of with no apology for the bad...

Stopped for something to eat and drink before going to 02 Victoria warehouse Nice little pub belonging to the weatherspoon chain.. Cheap beer.. Cheap pub food with a great atmosphere.. What Moor do you want.. The place was very busy being a Friday night but we were able to find a table.. Used the weather spoon app for ordering food and drinks.. Got served within minutes of ordering.. Drinks first and then food not long after The food was enjoyable enough and for the price it was more than value for money Toilets were on the second floor with a disabled toilet on the ground floor.. From what I saw.. You have to ask behind the bar for the key.. For sure worth a visit and the staff are friendly and polite.. Which can make all the...

Great pub. Just yards from United's Old Trafford so it is of course a massive red pub with loads of interesting United pictures on display. Inevitably gets packed on match days but the staff are superb; friendly and efficient. Also close to the other Old Trafford, home of Lancashire CCC. Our meals were good quality and excellent value. The usual superb choice of cask ales. There are other pictures and details of the local history. Named after a previous pub of the same name on the site in the C15th.

There couldn't be a better place to be at before a match at Old Trafford. This is the most buzzing and the best place to be at for Manchester United matches. The entire pub is divided into two levels, an expansive lower level and a smaller upper level. During matchday, entry is restrictive. The crowd comes in big numbers, so there is an extra long queue. Make sure you reach early to get inside and IT'S ABSOLUTELY WORTH BEING HERE.
