Tollgate — Restaurant in Trafford

I have been frequenting the Tollgate now for just over 5 years and i can quite honestly say the Combo is an absolute taste sensation, but you won't find this culinary delight on the new menu, o no!, it's on the Chefs Special board and quite rightly so!...it's one of Old Traffords hidden delights!... Mein Host, the Head Chef, the lovely and extremely talented Stella really has excelled herself here with this one, the Chips are home made just like the ones your Mum used to make!...the Garlic Bread is to die for and the Goujons simply melt in the mouth...cooked to perfection. Me and my significant other normally start off with the Tomato and Basil Soup which wouldn't be out of place in a top quality dining establishment akin those you'd find in the Town Centre but less than half the price and especially when accompanied with the fresh home made baguette and then we tuck into the aforementioned Combo...she can't get enough of it!...Stella really is a one off...she can't do enough for you..table service with a smile and she's really polite...a true lady...i even ring ahead before i arrive and there's always a cracking pint of Stella Artois waiting for me on the bar...please keep up the good work Stella the place just wouldn't be the same without you and your warm and friendly attitude...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the combo and soup to the most fussiest of eaters..trust me you won't be disappointed...just ask for Stella and say you would love to try the Combo...but be warned...one taste and you'll...

Having just moved to the area , i came in for a bite to eat and a drink , i have to say the food combo i had was the best ever even though it is not on the menu i was told by great bloke called Tommy who works there that it is the chefs speciality so you need to ask and how right he was , homemade chips, the chicken wings cooked to perfection and the garlic bread and cheese was to die for . i believe the chef was a lovely lady called Stella and even came out of the kitchen to ask if the food was to my satisfaction (stella knows that she does the best combo in manchester) and if i needed anything to drink and then went to the bar for me . I highly recommend and will be coming back again very soon thanks to Stella and her amazing combo a well deserved £5 tip look forward to seeing...

Nice large pub right outside Trafford bar tram stop. Good match day experience as the pub only allows only united fans in and has bouncers on the doors and outside to make sure things are safe. Outside area itself is large enough for the pub size and also includes a car park for those driving. The pub itself is also only 15 mins away from the stadium. It has good United decore inside too makes it very homely. The beer prices are very fair too, really couldn't grumble at the prices. A must for united fans...
