Absolutely appalling experience at Sunny Side Café in Stansted. If I could give zero stars, I would. We waited an unreasonably long time for food that was clearly reheated multiple times, tasted off, and absolutely not worth the price. The salt and pepper chicken wings were inedible; rubbery, drowning in salt, and tasted like they’d been microwaved three times over. Disgusting.
When we raised our concerns with the manager, she made it VERY clear she wasn’t happy we were complaining. Her attitude was rude and dismissive. She took the burgers away eventually, but left the wings on the table. When we brought them up again, she had the nerve to say: “You don’t have to complain about them, they’re fine. I eat them too.” Are you serious?! It’s not about what YOU eat - it’s MY food, and it was awful.
Only after seeing how angry I was did she take them back. In the end, they didn’t charge us for the food, just the drinks. Honestly, that’s the bare minimum after such a terrible experience.
To top it all off, the rest of the staff were incredibly rude—speaking in their own language right in front of us, and treating us like we were the problem. As I stood waiting while my partner paid for the drinks, one staff member even came at me with attitude, accusing me of trying to leave without paying. Absolutely unacceptable.
This place needs to be inspected. The food quality is shocking, the staff are unprofessional and disrespectful, and the whole experience was awful from start to finish. Never going back, and I would seriously advise others to avoid it...
Read moreFirst time here and I had high hopes. Queue was huge, which made me think it must be ok then. Sat at the high bar looking out into the airport, so I could watch the world go by. Ordered using the QR code and paid. Sat waiting, 20 minutes go by, queue has all but gone. 6 people working behind the counter, 1 is delivering hot plates food, the rest, well let’s say they were having a good time.
I couldn’t get anyone’s attention, without leaving my bags and then loosing my seat. Another 10 minutes go by and still sat waiting. Now you may think I had ordered a large plate of hot goodness. But no, a cheese and tomato croissant and a Coke Zero.
I ask the couple next to me, if they could watch my seat and bags while I go to the counter. Lovely couple said yes, and watched my every move. (Well done them)
At the counter everyone, but the young lad who was delivering food to tables. Ignored me, all seemed to have stuff to do. But there was no one at the counter 🤷♂️
The lad serving the tables, comes back and asked if he could help. Why yes you can please. He tells another my order and finally it’s on its way. But I need to stay at the counter to collect. Thankfully the couple aren’t in a rush.
Coke Zero is Coke Zero, all be it a tad warmer than I’d have liked. The croissant was rubbery and the tomato was cold. On the menu it didn’t say that it was going to be heated up. But ok I thought, plus I just want my food. Yeah not great
Would I come again?
I fly out of here every other couple of weeks, I may have to. But I definitely won’t be ordering...
Read moreI had a negative and disappointing experience here. All this caused by the lady waitress in the black uniform, whom I don't see the name badge. On the day, a waiter in a blue uniform was friendly and helpful guiding us to our table. Later on the lady in a black uniform came to take our order and everything seemed to be ok, until when the food arrived with the wrong drink. The same lady came and kept saying that I ordered the flat white while in fact I ordered apple juice. She took the drink and ignored us when I was trying to ask for the right drink. Finally another waiter had to bring me the drink I ordered. When we asked to pay, she gave us the bill with the wrong drink. The worse part was that when I tried to point out that the drink was wrong, she said the apple juice was more expensive than the flat white, so I had to show the menus and the prices of the 2 drinks that the apple juice’s price was lower. All these without any apologies or any expressions that showed responsibilities, in stead she chose to smirk. After we had paid I had a word with her that I was not happy with the service therefore I didn’t leave any tip. She said that’s alright with a rude and rough manner by hitting the receipt on the table. Her behaviour was rude and almost seemed racist. I wish she could be trained to use her manner better to deal with this kind of...
