Bella Italia - Cardiff Atlantic Wharf — Restaurant in Wales

Horrified with my experience. I went 2 weeks ago and 1st of all the waiter was very rude as we're all of the staff. My food was stone cold and was extremely dry as there was no sauce (which I paid for)I asked the waiter very nicely to take it back and just add some cream so it wasn't so dry and warm it up...I wasn't asking to make it from scratch or anything. He disappeared for 5 mins and came back with my meal esacaly the same!my wife's was the same and when we asked for extra parmasan on top by the look on his face and the way he forced it onto our plates you would have thought I had offered him a fight!2 meals and a £20 bottle of wine totalling £50 I expect better service. All the staff including the chef clearly did not want to be there that night.i eat in bella italia in the town centre frequently but my first experience in the bay I would advise everyone to avoid like the plaque very unhappy customer. The manager made me feel worse by saying nobody else has complained that night!with that attitude they were probably scared too!all of the staff there should have a non customer...

Slow service and cold food.

The waitress was kind but rarely checked in on us. When we asked for a dessert menu, we were left waiting for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we had the same issue when waiting for the bill. I had to ask another member of staff as it seemed we had been forgotten. Although I understand that there are staff shortages, this was not a busy night and two waiters could have easily dealt with the amount of customers.

I ordered the Carne Mista pizza as the meat feast was out of stock. I wasn't sure if the pizza base was frozen as it was stiff and frankly, hard to chew.

We ordered the "Warm" Cookie dough for dessert. I was disappointed to find that the ice cream had ice bits in it and tasted more like a snow cone than Italian gelato as promised. Furthermore, the Cookie dough was cold and firm without the promised melted chocolate in the middle and the caramel sauce was not warm and looked almost congealed on top.

I've never had any issues with Bella Italia and hope to see these issues worked on...

The atmosphere makes it feel like a rustic italian restaurant you would find in a back alley of Rome or in the middle of a small town Italy. You can enjoy 'outside' even when raining as your in the red dragon centre. The food is amazing and adaptable,(I'm extremely picky.)you only have to request.

The icecream is delicious, but my favourite desert is the shots (3 or 5 different desserts in shot glasses) choice out of 7 or 8(they do keep adding.) Drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) aren't to expensive for an night in Cardiff Bay.

TIP They vouch your parking ticket. Ask them about it.

Next visit (to any Bella Italia restaurant) you either get a garlic pizza bread FREE or 20% off food or anything else they have up their sleeve. Most time you just give your email or give a review.
