Often been passed & always seemed to look busy, today after seeing a story about them in the Argus we decided to stop in for our first visit and it's safe to say we are looking forward to many more trips supporting this super little family owned and community friendly business! I wanted to say family friendly but it really is the beautiful care and attention they give to every age group & need from the colouring pages for the kiddos to the time spent talking to the elderly and the little touches like low mirrors in the toilets for the disabled. Absolutely fab to see all their attention to detail in their bear themed menus, décor, uniforms and cleanliness front & back of house. Service was so friendly being greeted, shown to our seats, explaining how they work & having time to chat while promptly clearing away. It's so nice to see a family owned business thriving in a town centre and the way that Simon spoke about his team was really lovely. Our breakfasts were delivered at super speed and my fiancé was so impressed with my Pineapple Sunset Smoothie (made so clearly from real fruit) that he nearly abandoned his cappuccino! We'll be trying the ice slices next time!

This is quite an expensive coffee shop. A panini costing £9.45 and jacket potato also £9.45 is London prices (I know as I live around the London area) but perhaps their supplier’s have increased their prices… The actual atmosphere doesn’t feel too cosy, it feels like a very rushed, loud, chaotic place. The menu cards are just a laminated piece of paper, you have to help yourself to the cutlery from a basket. The chairs & tables are all very plastic. It just feels like a cheap Morrisons cafe..but with an expensive menu? The food was fine, nothing special and it just didn’t justify the nearly £10 cost of each of them. However the staff were all very friendly and great at their job which made up for it. They said food would take 20 minutes because of the kitchen being busy, however it came out around 10 minutes later. 😊

Stopped here on the off chance as in Cwmbran and so glad that we did! Had a lovely welcome by a member of staff who gave us a choice of sitting in or takeaway and showed us a table as we wanted to sit in. We had a Caramel Macchiato Latte & White Mocha. OMG fabulous! Our server at the till was very friendly and pleasant really fast on arrival of our coffee too! We will definitely be coming back here again if we are in the area and try some of their menu as they have a wide array of choices to choose from. Also was lovely and clean and presentable which is a huge bonus! Keep up the good work all :)

Visited this cafe for the second time. Read the sign on the door which said for takeaways make way to till, there was no one else there so we went in after sanitising our hands. We got ignored while waiting to be served and once a member of staff did notice us we were rudely asked as to why were standing there, once explained she turned around and quizzed us quite abruptly on if we had use the hand sanitiser to which we said yes. Instead of taking our order she then started discussing the matter with a younger member of staff to which I quote ‘ these two have just walked straight in’ - we were far from impressed and this is definitely not the lovely service we had from our first visit. Once our orders were taken we waited for our drinks and left , the deluxe frappe I order was terrible, just water and no taste. Very disappointing visit and we Will not be returning.

EDIT * as my review has been deleted due to me calling it a cafe and not a coffee shop I will repost. 110% visited this COFFEE SHOP and had the...

My daughter and myself love Brown Bears. It's our weekly treat. Service is amazing, the food is incredible & it's very clean, look at the stainless steel appliances, sparkly clean all the way down to the floor!. The beautifully decorated little booth like 'protective pod' sitting areas feels very welcoming and in my opinion is way up there with 5* standards when it comes to following covid legislation. Offering so much choice for food sensitivities I am spoilt for choice, which is a rarity. This place never dissapoints. Thank you to all the staff & providing a little delicious haven right in my local town. Just to put a cherry on top the toilet provided is very clean, offers plenty of room for disabled access, has gorgeous interior & very stylishly decorated with nice childfriendly/wheelchair user low sink access. Thank you Brown Bears, keep up the...
