All parents of young children should avoid this place like the plague unless they like to be treated poorly.
Was in the adjacent play park with my wife and two kids, one of which is a baby. The baby got hungry so I took her bottle and formula to this cafe to ask for 90mls boiling water so I could make the bottle.
The older man serving (who I believe was the owner/manager) was very begrudging when I politely asked for some hot water, asking if that was "all I was getting". He then proceeded to say "that's 50p" in a highly aggressive manner. I thought this was a bit out of order as most places have never had issue and given it freely but I was happy to pay - after all, he was using water/electric for it and it is a business at the end of the day. I simply said ok, paid and moved to the side away from the payment window to make the bottle up.
When making the bottle, the man then proceeded to lean out of the kiosk and say "This isn't a laboratory, go do that somewhere else". I'd had enough at this point and asked what his problem was, I'd paid without complaint which I've never done before and made no mess as all the powder was in the bottle already. The owner/manager then proceeded to swear rudely at me, telling me I was ungrateful and to get away from his kiosk. I left at this point as I was appalled by his disgusting behaviour.
Whether manager or owner, whoever this man was direly needs some training in customer service. The poor staff behind him looked very uncomfortable, and I don't blame them, he clearly has no idea of appropriate behaviour towards clients.
We were going to return for food/drinks after our other child was finished at the park, so he lost a decent chunk of business. We will never come back here now. Given all the recent negative reviews about awful food, he's probably done us a...
Read moreI've gone here for 5 years but this summer the place has been a complete disappointment - grill and most menu food has been off at 4pm, they offer specials only after this time when the cafe is open til 7pm! It's not a one off, I've been going at least 4 times a week throughout the summer at this time and it's been specials only... why have a menu on the wall if the food is not available? Most cafe's slow down half hour before close but not 3 hours! I did manage to get a baguette once this summer, it was supposed to be chicken, bacon and mayo which was chicken, then chopped bacon on top of chicken then enough mayo to sink a battle ship piled on top, I was expecting it to be mixed together in a dish or something and then put it in the baguette, all I could taste was the mayo, it was dripping out of the baguette and I didn't enjoy it at all. It's a shame as they have lost a lot of money from me alone this summer, I go four times a week alone including twice a week when four of us go to Llandaff Fields, I would have eaten alone on my single two days spending £10 and we would have eaten the other 2 days spending at least £40 but with the menu being closed at 4pm we are too late and we have settled for drinks and I would imagine we are not the only people this has stopped spending money there. I also hope they open inside and start allowing dogs inside again, this week I took my father who had just come out of hospital and although weather nice outside he was feeling cold but inside cafe was shut, my poor Dad just wanted an hour out and to sit inside away from draught. Stop messing around, nice to see you all get on well but you're there to serve us not socialise, improve your standards and customer service to were what they were 5 years ago and I would give...
Read moreFood is usually stunning but unfortunately on today's occasion I couldn't say the same! I order half pizza on a regular basis and I can't deny they are so so so nice but today's was absolutely tiny and thin compared to every other order of half pizza I have recieved it also doesn't appear to have been cooked the same chargrilled way please see photos for reference (same size same box same pizza same month ordred) when I had mentioned the small size compared to the others I had ordered I was met with that's the size they are as they are measured out but as you can see from the other 2 that's not what I have been receiving previously (yes i take photos to send to my partner as we have a running food thread) and I would never pay £6.50 for what I recieved today I can only describe it as the childs 50p pizzas from Asda I wouldn't mind if they had always came that small but they don't and after questioning it there was no understanding as to why I was unhappy it has put me off ordering again as now I'm not gonna be sure which style and size I'm due to recieve which is such a shame as I really did enjoy them! The lady who usually serves knows how much I enjoy the pizzas and I have never complained before so hopefully after seeing the differences there can be some understanding between today's server and...
