Most of the food was nice…..when it arrived. The service was very slow well for us it was, everyone else seemed to get served before us. The nicest starter in my opinion was the Tater Tots , the bang bang chicken was a bit too spicy and the tempura prawns… well you only get 3, so couldn’t really rate them. I would recommend the rib eye steak for main the chips were very nice, don’t bother with the Italian open sandwich it’s just a piece of toast with cheese and ‘bits’ on it. I certainly wouldn’t bother with a dessert either, we had the Eton mess, it’s served in a jam jar and the meringue wasn’t meringue it was ‘froth’ with lots of white chocolate bits and some dark, nearly black strawberries in it with a liquid in the bottom, not particularly nice. Due to the slow service we nearly didn’t get back to the car park in time. Don’t think I’ll bother going to...

Visited Carniboar twice in the past six months, each time absolutely impeccable. One of the best places to eat in Wrexham - food is stunning , service friendly and helpful without being overbearing.

First visit I had the Asian brisket - delectable meat, with an intriguing flavour combination which I really enjoyed. On my second, I went for the "surf n turf" - initially I was a bit wary at the price (£28 if memory serves) but it was worth this and more. Fries, steak cooked to your liking and huge, juicy garlic prawns to top it off. All of this combined with peppers, onions and a beautiful chimichurri sauce. I've been daydreaming about this meal since eating it and can't wait to return.

A note as well that the fish and vegetarian options were equally delicious according to my friend - something to suit everyone...

Due to a online error in the carniboar booking system, we're I booked to take my staff for our Xmas lunch. 20 mins before we were about to attend I had a phone call to explain that we couldn't attend the carniboar due to this online error on there side. I booked it approx 5 weeks ago. We were invited to the fatboar . We were grateful they could accommodate us . However, there was no xmas spirit/atmosphere at all. Sat down stairs as upstairs wasn't open. I sat throughout the whole meal with my coat on. It was so cold in there. Unfortunately not at all what I wanted for my Xmas works meal We had our puddings knocked of the bill. No email , apology from the carniboar, I know there sister companies. The fat boar stepped up and accommodated us which was something. But come on carniboar I booked...

Beautiful restaurant with a friendly and warm atmosphere The staff are very friendly and welcoming and especially attentive Really enjoyed the experience and the food was delicious I would certainly return and recommend trying The food portions are very generous so great value for money... No light lunch menu at the moment but I was told one is being introduced very soon only asked because you would not like to return to work after the hearty food you receive on the current menu Yes lovely staff....great ambience and delicious tasting food...

Oh wow – the food here was absolutely banging and a total steal at the same time! I was in Wrexham for work (not from the area), and decided to give this place a try – and oh my god, we definitely made the right choice. The food was cooked to perfection, generous in portion, and to our surprise, incredibly affordable. If you’re local, you’re lucky – something at this level anywhere else in England would probably cost double the price and not taste nearly as good. 100% worth visiting if you’re in the area!
