Most of the food was nice…..when it arrived. The service was very slow well for us it was, everyone else seemed to get served before us. The nicest starter in my opinion was the Tater Tots , the bang bang chicken was a bit too spicy and the tempura prawns… well you only get 3, so couldn’t really rate them. I would recommend the rib eye steak for main the chips were very nice, don’t bother with the Italian open sandwich it’s just a piece of toast with cheese and ‘bits’ on it. I certainly wouldn’t bother with a dessert either, we had the Eton mess, it’s served in a jam jar and the meringue wasn’t meringue it was ‘froth’ with lots of white chocolate bits and some dark, nearly black strawberries in it with a liquid in the bottom, not particularly nice. First visit I had the Asian brisket - delectable meat, with an intriguing flavour combination which I really enjoyed. On my second, I went for the "surf n turf" - initially I was a bit wary at the price (£28 if memory serves) but it was worth this and more. Fries, steak cooked to your liking and huge, juicy garlic prawns to top it off. All of this combined with peppers,onions and a beautiful chimichurri sauce. I've been daydreaming about this meal since eating it and can't wait to return.
A note as well that the fish and vegetarian options were equally delicious according to my friend - something to suit everyone...
Read moreDue to a online error in the carniboar booking system, we're I booked to take my staff for our Xmas lunch. 20 mins before we were about to attend I had a phone call to explain that we couldn't attend the carniboar due to this online error on there side. I booked it approx 5 weeks ago. We were invited to the fatboar . We were grateful they could accommodate us . However, there was no xmas spirit/atmosphere at all. Sat down stairs as upstairs wasn't open. I sat throughout the whole meal with my coat on. It was so cold in there. Unfortunately not at all what I wanted for my Xmas works meal We had our puddings knocked of the bill. No email , apology from the carniboar, I know there sister companies.
