I sent lots of messages that were never replied to about being disabled in a wheelchair. But when I got there they gave me a room with some stairs to take and later showed me that I could use the service elevator which mentioned I had to go through the kitchen. The room is dirty. We had loads of milk portions but no sugar. The bathroom was very difficult to use i even twisted my uncle trying to get out of the bath it was also moldy black sealant around the bath and hairs on the toilet and in the bath. My husband went to get food from the restaurant and Dan the guy at the bar was busy hugging his friends and ignored my husband when my husband said hi can I order some food he grunted and walked off. My husband asked why so rude? And he grunting again and shrugged his shoulders. He is not a friendly person and doesn't like his job. I paid for my husband to have breakfast but they charged for both of us even though I can't eat at the moment. Some other friends stayed here to and they had no toilet roll in their room. The place is falling apart. But apparently that's OK as they're doing it up in January. They really shouldn't be letting rooms out at all. Also we were in the noisiest room and it rumbled through the wall all night.

Ian and his lovely staff. This hotel is in a great location, definitely needs updating as some of it looks a bit tatty. The meals are really nice and good value, fantastic breakfast all cooked to perfection The staff are amazing, so friendly can't do enough for you, always smiling and checking if all is OK. Customer service at its BEST. I have to personally thank Ian the general manager who was absolutely a GEM to me knowing I was on my own for a few nights and looking out for me. He has also got a great knowledge of wines and recommended a lovely wine called Wise Wolf, more expensive than the normal wine they have but worth every penny , and history about the bottle, recycled from windscreens, very interesting. Will be back soon Ian thankyou again🥰 Read less

It's about time this hotel had a major cleanup. Rooms are disgusting. Bathrooms gull of mould , soap dispenser non working... very, very sad, constant hummmm in the walls. Windows are single glazed, so all outside sounds are able to come in, wall heaters well lets say do not work without leaking... bath found with hair still from previous persons still in bath and wires hanging out walls ..

Where do I start! So upon arrival we took our seats and proceeded to order online this was simple enough. But our group was 3 paying adults and 4 children, so while the last adult was about to order a message appeared saying no more food orders being taken. So even though 2 of the adults had ordered 1 hadn’t so they went to the bar and being told there that they were not going to be doing food now untill over 1 hours time. But I explained that 2 adults had already ordered and 1 hadn’t do very unwillingly they still put the last order through. So after sitting back down for a while and waiting 30 minutes for our online drinks to arrive we had to remind them we had ordered drinks only after me asking did they then bring the drinks over. So then after 1 hours wait 3 out of 7 meals were brung out. 2 of which were children’s meals so we had 2 children having to sit there watching the other 2 children eat as the other adult meal didn’t arrive for another 20 mins and then even then there was a further wait for the other 2 children’s meals and when we told them there was 1 adults order still not arrived we were told they couldn’t find the order so then that adult meal had to be started which meant yet another wait. Even when the food turned up it was tasteless and some inedible. We then left very disappointed and will not...

Last here in around 2018/19 and the place was very well organised with friendly staff on all levels, i returned for a couple of nights and the impossible has happened! The place has gotten even better, staff are all engaging and offer a genuinely friendly pleased to meet you vibe. The bar was busy most of the weekend especially in the evenings but there was never a lack of cleaned tables as the bar staff were all quick to act once people had vacated their seats. Food was excellent and delivered swiftly so still hot. I watched as the bar staff interacted with what were clearly local customers and then with complete strangers with the same friendly interaction. Little things like carrying some drinks to a table for an elderly couple and returning a while later to enquire if they would like another drink. I was meant to be here for 2 nights and after experiencing a double booking issue at destination in another town, returned here for the remaining 3 days of my stay, same welcome and quiet a laugh between myself and the members of staff who were on duty.. Shall just make this my base next time and save...
