Colliers Arms — Restaurant in Wales

I went here today with my family and the reviews and the recommendations we have had were every bit true...the food was lovely, it was like a homecooked roast which is absolutely what me and my family were after, the portion of the meal was generous and we were fools to try and go for 3 courses but we did, all the food was yummy and perfectly cooked and tasty, nice amount of gravy comes on the roast. I couldnt have a starter as they were both mushroom starters (mushroom soup and breaded mushrooms) which i dont eat so that was my only negative, but a starter isnt needed with such caliber of main meal, only providing a roast on a sunday is sensible to keep up with the demand of here, i can see a lot of the people are regulars here which speaks volumes in itself. The staff and sevice is welcoming and friendly whicb is lovely being new to a place. And we sure will be back.

We went for lunch as it was rated as 4 and half stars. Sadly the food was not that standard, we had 2 Ultimate Burgers, which on the menu declared that it was a 1/4 pounder, bacon, cheese, mayo sauce, chips, onion rings and salad. I don't usually eat burgers but fancied a nice meaty beef burger, it came, what a disappointment , a cheap nasty frozen slither of hamburger, value edition . No mayo sauce and bacon that looked it been cooked on a radiator. 2 greasy onion rings and the chips looked like they'd been fried at least 3 times. Absolutely great food. It's delicious and so much of it! I definitely didn't need to order a side to go with it. I had vegetarian jalfezi which was spicy and moreish. It came with a small naan, rice and chips. The chips looked and tasted home made. They were delicious. Latte was decent from their coffee machine and they do takeaway hot drinks as well which is a plus. My dad had 0% alcohol lager and ham, eggs and chips for the main. The ham was stacked up like a mountain!! Id certainly return there again, great value for money, two meals and two drinks with a side (which we didn't need 😂) totalled...
