Welcome : Loads of smiles and the staff greeted as if they knew us, couldn't fault it. We hadn't booked but we're shown to a table within minutes, Staff: Absolutely nothing too much to ask, friendly and full of enthusiasm, really helpful, The restaurant: Clean, bright and fresh, plenty of room, Drinks: Just what you would want; good selection, catered for everyone (I even heard someone ask for a "Blackcurrent Cordial") No problem, Menu: Huge menu with something for every taste; one of the widest ranges we've seen in a pub restaurant for years, As well as a main menu, "Specials" looked appetising, plain and simple with a really interesting twist, Food: Well ..... If it wasn't absolutely wonderful, I wouldn't be writing this in as much detail ..... It was presented perfectly, big portions, hot and fresh and served quickly; every mouthful was delightful, We didn't have the space for pudding but I bet that was no less perfect; desert menu was really varied, So a huge thank you to all of the staff who made our lunch one to remember. I have ate here on many occasions from the week day menu and the food has been amazing. But I ordered 4 Sunday lunches yesterday to take away. Never again! The cauliflower and the gravy tasted almost chemical as if it had been boiled in water that sometimes has that weird taste! The one pot of vegetarian gravy was a quarter full of some vile congealed slop! Hardly any beef and a lot of fat on it! I called and spoke to the manager Emma and was told she had done 140 dinners and not one complaint so basically there was nothing she was willing to do other than say sorry! It’s left me feeling totally disappointed and unsettling to have been made to feel like a liar. But 100% it did not taste right! £50 down the drain!! dreadful!! Just awful!!

Update just been here with the family This place never fails to impress me 8 of us went for food her tonight including children All the food came out together and boiling hot we were sat next to the kitchen upstairs and could see everything being prepared fresh from scratch One of the relatives had the crispy beef and couldn’t fault it one had gammon one burger chicken ultimate combo to share of course and 2 kids meals then the desert was absolutely stunning that followed The stag there Leanne Sophia and Karen were amazing and so happy when serving us Thanks again we be back soon for more food More than likely a Sunday for carvery as it...
