Tim Horton's, the newly opened Canadian fast food outlet and coffee shop in Swansea Llansamlet, left us with mixed feelings during our first visit. We decided to try their Tim's Cheeseburgers, opting for a Double and a Triple, which came as part of a meal with Lattice Fries and a drink. Unfortunately, the burgers didn't live up to our high expectations. While they were adequately moist, they lacked the distinct flavour and quality that one would typically associate with a chain burger takeaway outlet, tasing more like a burger van cooked item. In comparison to competitors like Burger King, McDonald's, and Wendy's, Tim Horton's burgers fell short.
The limited burger selection was disappointing, and it seemed that Tim Horton's was more focused on their coffee and donuts rather than hot food options. The Lattice Fries served as a side were filling and came with a dip, which was a welcome addition considering the small size of the burgers.
For our beverages, we chose the Cherry Crush Cooler and a strawberry shake. The prices, however, were surprisingly high, leaving us feeling somewhat ripped off compared to similar fast food outlets. Ordering through the digital totem screen proved to be a frustrating experience as it initially had no receipt paper. After informing a staff member, they eventually resolved the issue, but the machine printed a receipt for a different order from the breakfast menu, causing confusion. It was challenging to find a staff member to assist us a second time, and they requested the price we paid to provide a copy of the receipt, so had to check with our banking app.
The food took around 15 minutes to arrive at the collection counter after placing the order, which was a reasonable wait time. The interior of the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated, but overall, the experience at Tim Horton's left us feeling underwhelmed. We won't be in a rush to return, as the mediocrity of the food and the frustrating ordering process overshadowed any positive aspects...
Read moreAfter having lived off Tim Hortons when I lived in Canada for 12 years I was so excited when they opened up a branch literally up the road from my house. Tonight I had the yule log hot chocolate which was delicious and piping hot as it should be and an apple fritter and hubby had the French vanilla latte which was to die for and an apple fritter. While we thoroughly enjoyed what we had (plus a box of 10 timbits...yum) I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the selection of donuts and pastries etc. Where were the bear claws and cruellers and biscuits??? Why are they selling hot dogs and sausage & egg baps etc??? This is not the Tim Hortons I knew and loved this was more like McDonalds (albeit with better tasting food). PLEASE if you want to promote Tim Hortons then be true to what they sell and bring in a larger selection of donuts (and bear claws!!!). Would just like to give a big shout out to Ruby who was so sweet and polite, nothin was too much trouble for her and while hubby helped me with my crutches she not only put all of our rubbish in the bin but held the door open for us as well....
Read moreMy friend and I recently dined at Tim Hortons and ordered the double bacon burger meal with lattice fries. I opted for a chocolate milkshake, while my friend chose a bottled coke, which he enjoyed the most out of the entire meal.
Unfortunately, our experience with the food was not great. The burger patty had no succulence and tasted like a rustlers, earning it a 3/10 rating. The lattice fries were also disappointing, with a rating of 4/10. I was disappointed by the watery consistency and lack of real chocolate flavor in my milkshake, giving it a 3/10 rating.
However, we did find one redeeming quality in the sweet chili dip, which was the only thing that we enjoyed.
Furthermore, the donuts we tried did not meet our expectations. The original glazed donut was too batter-y and tasted horrible. I also had a honey crueller, which was slimy and lacked flavor.
Overall, our meal at Tim Hortons was not worth it. We would have preferred to go to McDonald's instead. I hope that in the future, Tim Hortons can improve the quality of their food to provide a better dining experience for their customers....
