Terrible customer service for a 30 weeks pregnant lady with gestational diabetes We visited Curado bar with some friends. While waiting for everyone to arrived I asked the waiter to bring me some bread and a tomato salad as I was 30 weeks pregnant with gestational diabetes. I had just tested my blood sugar and it was really low. I was having a "hypo" (hypoglycaemia). After a while, 15 min or so, I asked the waiter if I could have just bread as I was diabetic and my sugar was really low. He told me: the bread is in the kitchen been cooked, when it is ready I will bring it to you. So I thought he did not understand the diabetes thing and I try to explained it. He cut me and said again: the bread is in the kitchen been cooked, when it is ready I will bring it to you. I told him, I just needed the bread for now, that does not need to be cooked, please. He said again: the bread is in the kitchen been cooked, when it is ready I will bring it to you. All in a very sharp and abrupt tone. I was very distressed by that answer. I was about to pass out as my blood levels were 3.2. I remind you I was 30 weeks pregnant too. I started to get very shaky and sweaty. Very worried I was going to faint. The bread came after a good 8-10 min. This incident totally ruined my dinner out with my friends.
The tomato salad I ordered did not come, even after my friends have ordered their own food and their plates start arriving. I managed to talked to another waiter and he brought me the tomato salad.
Regarding the experience, I was very disappointed with the service not just about that incident with the waiter but also as Spanish myself away from home I wanted to have that little treat to remember my country. Several waiters brought food to our table for my friends and they did not even tell us what the plates were, they just left it on the table.
They have a good variety of Spanish food and you can get a good rage of tapas. It is expensive for what it is.
Very important the look at costumer service, now with more tapas bar opening in Cardiff I do not see the point of going to Curado again. As a Spanish person I will make sure I let everyone know about what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited for the first time as a party of 6, for my friendās birthday. Some of the dishes were delicious, some ok, some boring; but what really left a bitter taste in our mouth, was the attitude we were faced with when we paid in cash. We had no idea they have a ācard onlyā policy, my friend booked the table and weāve never been there before. We gave our contribution of cash to the waitress and our friends paid their part with their cards; the waitress walked off and then she came running to my partner and I before we walked out of the door saying, āyou canāt pay in cash sorry, card only.ā I told them I donāt have my card and we only brought cash out for the evening. The female manager was called and her attitude stunk. She was condescending, rude and said we should have read the sign on the door (which we didnāt notice because the door was open on arrival). Obviously we had already eaten, so I asked her what she suggested and she told me to tell our friends (who had already left) to pay on their card and give them the cash? Then she said she was going to call the police for not paying, even though I was stood there offering money to her?! Iām pretty sure the police have got other priorities other than payment method disputes on a Friday night. šš Anyway, the manager really needs to work on her customer delivery and perhaps all staff make it clear BEFORE they take peopleās orders, about their card only policy. I have since researched the law and found that when you are in debt to someone in the UK (ie we ate food at the establishment) cash is deemed ālegal tenderā to pay debts and cannot be refused. Needless to say, we left our money on the table for them and just walked out; never to return again! The thing that was the most annoying? The manager laughed at me for daring to...
